Black drivers in Missouri are 91% more likely to be stopped than white drivers, a report finds

Black drivers are 91% more likely than whites to be pulled over by police, a report from the Missouri Attorney General has found.

The disparity is the highest in the 19 years the vehicle stops report has been conducted, Scott Decker, one of the people who prepared the report, told CNN.

African Americans compose 10.9% of Missouri's driving age population, but 19.2% of all vehicle stops in 2018, according to the report released May 31.

The report examined 1,539,477 vehicle stops from 596 law enforcement agencies in the state.

People of other races -- including whites, Hispanics, Asians and Native Americans -- were stopped at rates "well below" their portion of the driving-age population, the report said.

The article is worthless political propaganda if it does not address if the drivers who were more likely to be pulled over broke the law more often as well. Without knowing who broke the law more often, one could also assume that the drivers who get pulled over more often break the law more often.

So

Blacks commit over 50% of the murders in America and probably 95% of the murders in St Louis
 
I occasionally check the police logs in my area & I see overwhelmingly the stops are for "vehicle code violation" & not once have I ever seen it actually reported what that actually means/entails..

As a result of being pulled over they ask for id etc, lots of times fools lie~leads to arrest, other times they are on probation or parole & they do a probation or parole search & find drugs, weapons etc~off to jail w/ them...

I have seen reports of ppl pulled over for "vehicle code violation" & they are on a bicycle, most often resulting in the above~ & off to jail.

I am wondering if this is a new tactic or something police have been doing for years? It can seem to be similar to the stop & frisk, other than the vehicle code violations~assuming they are not used as an excuse to pull ppl over..

vehicle code violation...missing bumper, missing fuel tank cover, hanging something from mirror that obstructs view like a big gold chain(bling)...smoking ciggs in car with a minor

I wonder what will stop these obviously criminally bigot cops from engaging in their form of domestic terrorism, for a black person to cover themselves in white or off white paint in order to avoid being a victim of these thug cops? I suppose these savage cops want to make people of color rich when it comes to them and their good ole boy police departments getting b!tch slapped with lawsuits and exposure at being a danger to public safety. In my opinion, these demonic cops are just as much of a burden on the taxpayer who ends up paying out these lawsuit damages as a crooked politician.

I have always thought there is a high probability that blacks are disproportionately convicted and incarcerated is because the cops disproportionately target them for surveillance and arrest.

That's my theory.

A lot of Trump-supporters, aka conservatives on this forum have claimed there is a disproportionately high percentage of blacks in prison because black people are inherently more criminal. And they vote just to get free stuff!
