Black prof Michael Eric Dyson DEMANDS more affirmative action for blacks

To understand is your argument black students qualify for Ivy League schools

Yes many would qualify.

but because of racism don't get accepted

Yes that is why AA was created

or they can't qualify because of racism and therefore need lessor standards?[/QUOTE]

This is ignorance. My position was clear on your first two questions. You added this nonsense to deflect from racism the white man presents.

You don't seem capable of using the quote code properly. Is that because a racist white man devised it? :rofl2:

Two days of Failure ...

I'll bite. What do you believe was failure in what I posted?

We all know the history of discrimination in this country. We know why HBCU's were created, because black kids couldn't get into white colleges. We know why AA was created. The question today in 2018 is does AA benefit black and Hispanic kids now? I don't think that gets discussed because the idea of AA is such a powerful one.

AA essentially says one who doesn't meet the necessary requirements to obtain admittance into a high school or University based on grades and test scores should be allowed in based on race due to past discrimination.

A couple of questions pop into my mind. If a kid (any kid) is put into an academic environment where their scores say they shouldn't belong are we doing them a disservice? I don't think that's an all or nothing question. Some kids perform better in college than their high school tests or grades would show. But on the whole do we have studies or research that has looked into it? If we put a kid (any kid) in a tougher environment because they got into a better school through AA and then flunk out have we done them a disservice instead of that kid going where they fit in better academically. Because the thing with AA is it's not like someone won't go to college without it. It's about what level of school will they go to.

The alternative method we hear discussed is advantages for kids who grow up in poor socio-economic households and that covers people of all races. Of course we probably all know people who grew up with little economically but had a lot of love and support at home and there are those who grow up with extremely wealthy parents who received little attention or support at home. Not everyone's situation is the same. But as we see more black and Hispanic children growing up in middle class households the need for traditional AA is less than it was 60 years ago (which is a good thing).

Yes indeed and the reason blacks couldn't get into white colleges is because they couldn't meet the standards. And they still can't meet the standards but today we tell them "that's ok. We will lower standards for blacks and they'll get in that way."!!!!

Yes it does. But it benefits white women more.

No it doesn't. That's your problem. You are taking the definition of AA out of context. It has nothing to do with scores and everything to do with being accepted by racist white men.

Once you understand that concept, you'll understand why we still need AA.

This response is so bad all you can do is laugh.

I've told you 10 times this is my argument.

This is your argument along with all the other racist who want to eliminate AA.

they can't qualify because of racism and therefore need lessor standards

YOU and other racist are spewing qualification when it has nothing to do with that.

You and Text Drivers are Killers want the same outcome.

He's like dump.....he speaks his mind. It's the real reasons why the republicans want to eliminate AA.

You, trying to sugar coat the real reason doesn't make you any more considerate than TDAK, YOU BOTH WANT IT ELIMINATED.........shrugging shoulders.

I asked a question, I didn't make an argument. Do you even know how AA works?

You're too much of a simpleton to understand the arguments being made here. I asked questions about what best benefits the kids. You've made no attempt to answer that because you have no clue. Just screaming racist white men isn't an answer.

I did answer, you didn't like my answer.

I think we still need AA because racist white men are still discriminating against Blacks.

How much clearer can I be?

White has nothing to do with it. Not one beneficiary of AA has done so because white was a factor. However, for niggers, it's the only way most of them can ever get something and it's not because they can but because those supporting AA know they never will be able to on their own.

It's not discrimination when the blacks aren't as qualified. It becomes an excuse.

Do racist white men prevent qualified blacks from getting into Ivy League schools or do they prevent them from being able to qualify for Ivy League schools?

If you truly believe people should be hired on qualification, you'd support eliminating AA. Since you think race should be a factor knowing blacks have to have something whites don't, you support it staying.
