The Iranian rial was devalued by half in 2013 and it has dropped even further since, that hurts them considerably not least because oil is priced in dollars. They only came to the table because sanctions were crippling their economy, they will have no choice but to come back again.

Not ill informed in the least if the iranians cancel all their contracts with American companies that's bad for business. In fact the smart move for them would be to cancel the American contracts and take the contracts out with European Russian and Chinese companies.
