  • The post contrasts a positive/old Newport Beach Independence Day article (from 2016, promoting community events like parades, fireworks, and family activities) with images/videos apparently showing the recent unrest: crowds, police on horseback charging people, looting (e.g., at a Pavilions grocery store), fires, blocked streets, fireworks incidents, and disorder near the pier/Balboa Peninsula.
  • Multiple news outlets (NY Post, ABC7, local reports) confirm the main chaos unfolded on July 4, 2026, especially in the evening as crowds overwhelmed the area for fireworks and celebrations. Police made ~402 arrests, many involving out-of-area juveniles/young adults. Incidents included fights, illegal fireworks thrown at officers/crowds, fires, and looting.
  • Photos and videos cited in coverage (e.g., from Instagram/X users like @herbertgcalderon, @Surflick, etc.) match the timeline and were posted/shared starting July 5, 2026.

Planet of the Feral Apes
What the fuck is wrong with these people?
Democrats run California, don't they?
Of the 402 arrested, half were from Arizona white Republican suburbs, and a quarter were from Nevada white Republican suburbs. Early reports put the numbers at slightly under half and a quarter, but as more of the arrested are identified, the number will go over half and a quarter. One came as far as from the Texas white Republican suburbs. The few from California were from far away California white Republican suburbs.

Newport Beach is one of the most desirable places to live on Earth. The people there are literally living the dream, and are not rioting. The only problem with it is that because it is in such demand, it is very expensive to live there. But that also means if they chose not to live there, they can use their wealth to easily live in where ever @Stone lives.

These were right wing incels who organized online to attack those that had more than them. These rioters had been given a lot, but at the first sign of needing to do things on their own started failing. I would feel sorry for them, but they really do it to themselves.

The usual suspects?
Somewhere along the line, you forgot what "round up the usual suspects" means. It is a reference to arresting random people to frame for a crime. In this case it would be the right wing demands that Blacks who fled the white rioters should be arrested too... Even though they committed no crime.

These are all poor oppressed people..cough, cough....
They are the white young men from Republican suburbs who could not get into college because they are stupid and lazy. They cannot get a date, because they are hateful. trump promised them "retribution" so they decided to take it out on the people of Newport Beach.

There is an additional issue hurting them. As trump's demands that private schools end diversity scholarships, more intelligent minorities are flooding into state schools, shoving less intelligent whites, like these losers, out.

Not a Black face to be found in the riots. Amazing how that works.

Walt, your post is irrelevant to the thread and misses the point entirely.

The thread is about chaos in Newport Beach, California—a city run by Democrats in a Democrat-dominated state—during Fourth of July celebrations: stores looted, police horses charging crowds, fires, illegal fireworks used as weapons, blocked streets, and hundreds of arrests.

Your response pivots to claiming the arrested were mostly "white Republicans" from Arizona/Nevada/Texas suburbs, calling them right-wing incels, Trump supporters seeking "retribution," etc. That's a deflection, not a rebuttal. Here's why it doesn't address the core issue:

  • Location and governance matter: The failures happened in California under long-term Democratic leadership (policies on policing, crowds, youth crime, fireworks enforcement, etc.). Pointing to out-of-state visitors doesn't excuse why local authorities couldn't (or wouldn't) prevent the "teen takeover" from turning into widespread disorder. Newport Beach locals weren't rioting—the visitors exploited a situation enabled by the environment there.
  • Demographics don't erase accountability: Even if many arrested came from out of state (reports confirm significant numbers from Arizona, etc.), the event was still a breakdown in California. Blaming "Republican suburbs" or inventing motives like incel rage and anti-diversity backlash is unsubstantiated narrative-pushing. It ignores the actual reported behavior: looting, fights, fireworks attacks on police/crowds, fires—not some organized political protest.
  • Classic whataboutism: The thread highlights problems in a blue area. Responding with "but these bad actors were from red areas" doesn't defend California's governance or explain the repeated pattern of summer chaos in Democrat-run cities. It just changes the subject.

If the goal is honest discussion, address why this keeps happening in places with progressive policies on crime, enforcement, and public order—not invent partisan fairy tales about the perpetrators. The "usual suspects" line was likely shorthand for the typical crowd dynamics in these incidents, not a literal racial claim (and the "no Black faces" observation from others underscores that this wasn't the usual script some expected).

Stick to the facts of the Newport Beach event instead of derailing into culture-war fanfic.
