I was involved in the national anthrax scare after 9/11. The public health response to that was woefully inadequate. After that, the government pumped tons of money into public health infrastructure. But, they then forgot and became lax again. And now, here we go again.

Fuck that. I am gathering with my family for the holidays as I always do. Government has no right to tell me what I do in my own home, nor what any of my family does in their own homes. Fuck such evil Satanic tyranny.

"We are at a dire point in our fight with this virus, by any measure."

A pandemic of the novel coronavirus has now killed more than 1.3 million people worldwide.

Over 57.4 million people across the globe have been diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the new respiratory virus, according to data compiled by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

The actual numbers are believed to be much higher due to testing shortages, many unreported cases and suspicions that some national governments are hiding or downplaying the scope of their outbreaks.

The criteria for diagnosis -- through clinical means or a lab test -- has also varied from country to country.

The United States is the worst-affected nation, with more than 11.9 million diagnosed cases and at least 254,383 deaths.

Last week, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said it is recommending that Americans do not travel for Thanksgiving.

"It's not a requirement, yet. It's a recommendation for the American public to consider," Dr. Henry Walke, the CDC's COVID-19 incident manager, told reporters during a call on Nov. 19. "Right now, as we're seeing exponential growth in cases and the opportunity to trans-locate disease or infection from one part of the country to another leads to our recommendation to avoid travel at this time."

How ironic that lefties constantly claiming what people do in the privacy of their own homes is their business support the government telling people what they can and cannot do in the privacy of their own homes. Perhaps they only consider privacy important when two fags want to sodomize each other.
 



Across the country, public officials are urging people to stay home and stay safe during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday amid a dramatic rise in new cases of COVID-19 in nearly every state.

Experts warn that the holiday week will be a crucial time for fighting the virus, and that even limited family gatherings could result in devastatingly high numbers of newly infected people.

Hospitals are already reaching capacity around the country, as the country hit the grim milestone of 12 million confirmed cases.

From Oregon to Illinois to Maryland, governors have instituted stricter statewide restrictions ahead of the holiday.

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a curfew for most of the state that went into effect Saturday night, as cases in California have tripled over the past month.

In Virginia, Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam said that the makeshift morgues he had seen set up in other states convinced him to take action.

"We have Thanksgiving coming up. We have the flu season coming up. If Virginians would do the right thing — and by the way, this is in your hands, Virginia — you know what to do. If we do the right things, we will keep the numbers down," Northam told reporters, according to The Roanoke Times.

In the Midwest, five Democratic and two Republican governors, from Michigan, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana and Minnesota, teamed up to make a video, sharing a bipartisan message of restraint and safety in the weeks ahead.

"With Thanksgiving around the corner, remember: be smart, follow recommendations from medical experts," said Michigan's Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

"Getting together with your family via Zoom to ensure your loved ones stay safe is the right thing to do," said Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky. Beshear, a Democrat, recently announced new restrictions that took effect over the weekend following a rise of cases in the state.
