I explicitly wrote that if someone doesn't like the film, they should have walked out of the theater or changed the channel. It's no skin off my nose.
Some did walk out.
I stayed to see the end, despite the unevenness of it.
I was disappointed. Not really his best film, and certainly not up to the qualify of the book.
The Star Child and the trip through the Star Gate was poorly done. The book described it much better.
The Moon transit and Discovery were done well. The Monolith mystery was fairly well portrayed.
Mad Magazine sure roasted it properly.
Frankly, I preferred more of the works of Blake Edwards or Mel Brooks. Hilarious stuff!
"A man that drinks like that and don't eat is gonna die!" -- "When??" -- Blazing Saddles
"You know, I'm a talented surgeon. I might be able to do something about that hump." -- ""What hump??" -- Young Frankenstein
"Press the button, Max!" -- The Great Race
"Two nasty looking switches over here, but I'm not gonna be the first!" -- Young Frankenstein
"Max, WE'RE number five!" -- The Great Race
"I suppose a certain amount of dishonesty is going to beget a certain amount of dishonesty," -- Pink Panther
I always love a good comedy.
