Coronavirus advisor says the U.S. should go into national lockdown for 4 to 6 weeks

Let's say we do this. The economy takes a serious hit. Then, 4 to 6 weeks later we open up and get slammed with new cases. Then what? Seems to me better this run its course at this point than we keep trying what clearly hasn't particularly worked up to this point.

Joe Biden's Coronavirus advisor says the U.S. should go into national lockdown for 4 to 6 weeks to avoid 'COVID hell' and the administration can borrow money to pay wages while businesses are closed

Borrow from WHOM???

These people are pathologically insane. permanent lockdown and universal income is what they want

China can stroll in and buy everything for a discount

You are mentally ill

scuttling up the economy, concurrent with the collateral damage of a lockdown ( that doesn't work) is an idea as well

Misnomer conservatives throw around, that instituting Covid precautions shuts down the whole economy

First off, taking precautions don't mean immediately shutting down everything, and secondly, Covid left unchecked would shut down the economy a lot quicker and deeper than any precaution could do, did you think people are going to carry on life as normal when the infection/hospitalization/death rate climb rapidly?

Because that could never happen right? Wake the fuck up. We are still recovering from the last time they did it.

You monitor where those new cases arise, and then deal with them geographically, measured approach. This year NYC has a rise in certain sections in one borough, the Governor instituted restrictions for those areas for a period of time and today their infection rate is back to where the rest of the State ism why testing is imperative

Missed the point, if there had been no restrictions, Covid on its own would have devastated the economy with the extra effect of additional deaths. And the reason it didn't work in some areas is because individuals as yourself in those areas fought against the precautions using the inane rationale of freedom as an excuse for flat out laziness

Good example, New York went from the epicenter of the virus back in March when little was known about it to one of the least infected States in the country, in other words, they learned how to contain it employing restrictions, which for the most part, New Yorkers cooperated and it worked.

Thanks that was easy, it often a Covid denier gives one an easy setup

Some more fallacies here Archives. Care to explain then why NYC is going back up so quickly and they are shutting downs things again? Guess you dummies do not know how to wear masks.

Keep that bullshit coming Archives. I will beat you up with your own stupidity tomorrow. Have rounds to make.

Have you learned nothing? We do not get "slammed" with new cases. We get a few new cases which gradually grows to the slam over weeks and months.

Lets say we eliminate Covid-19, and a few cases pop up again. We can contact trace, quarantine, treat, and eliminate a few cases. We will be prepared, because we will know it is coming.

"But... But... But, it is going to run its course with no work from us, and we will all be saved"

There has not been the drop in R1 transmission that would indicate any herd immunity. Nobody is sure why, but there is no herd immunity that will save us any time soon.

"But... But... But, logically speaking the facts cannot be right"

The herd immunity theory was a logical theory, but it is falling apart in the face of facts. That means it missed something. Now we have to work out what it missed.

Victoria records biggest spike in coronavirus case in over a month

That was a hard one to fight back... And Americans were the ones who spread it to Victoria, Australia. It turns out that Americans like to break quarantine. The world is learning not to trust Americans, which is a VERY BAD THING FOR AMERICANS, like me.
