If you have a per-existing condition and contract COVID which compounds the condition leading to your death, is it due to COVID?

I am amused that something that has caused 2,112 deaths over a three month timeline is called a catastrophe. The REAL catastrophe has been the response to this which has led to a meltdown in our economy.
If you have the choice of keeping your job, or risking the REALITY of 2,112 deaths out of a population of 308 MILLION, isn't it stupid to choose to lose your job over a .00006% chance of dying from this virus?
Correct, and for obvious reasons. Everyone where I live is on 2-5 acres. It's more difficult for me to accidentally contract COVID-19 from a neighbor than someone living on the 4th floor apartment.

I don't think it is going out on much of a limb to recognize the trend and extrapolate where it is headed, unless something changes.
All one has to do is look at how fast the numbers are climbing and project that forward.
That is not as much of a prediction as it is simple math.
For that trajectory to fail to materialize going forward, something has to change it.
Would you like to speculate or make a prediction of what that something is?
Because if there isn't some magic bullet, Fauci is probably being very realistic.
