As an esteemed member of the maritime community with years of experience commanding RORo, battleships and an admiral in the coast guard, I think this thread is silly.

DEMOCRAT THUGS TRIED TO INTIMIDATE ELECTORS

Al Gore campaign aide Bob Beckel intended to make that moral case to Florida's electors—and perhaps electors in other states—who could be convinced to "follow the will of the people".

Gore did not need all of the state's electors, just four.

For that matter, he didn't think it had to be limited to Florida. He thought demonstrating statistics to prove Gore's win could sway enough of the George W. Bush electors to switch their votes since they were not legally bound.

The Wall Street Journal first reported that Gore's team "has been checking into the background of Republican electors with an eye toward persuading a handful of them to vote for Mr. Gore."

Beckel insisted afterward he never had plans to try to blackmail electors to collect Gore votes, which he thought the article implied.

But in an interview on November 17, 2000, Beckel said: "I'm trying to kidnap electors. Whatever it takes."

Beckel later explained what the Founders wanted: "The idea was that electors, early on, were to be lobbied."

Pro-Gore websites even started popping up, listing the names and contact information of Republican electors across the country, asking the public to barrage them with demands to vote for Gore and follow the will of the people.

Republican National Committee Chairman Jim Nichols sent an email to supporters asking them to "Help Stop DEMOCRAT Electoral Tampering."

Responding to the chairman, Beckel said: "The Constitution gives me the right to send a piece of mail to an elector."

It never made a difference. No electors shifted, but it did serve as another twist as the 2000 election story unfolded—and another PR fumble for DEMOCRATS.

Usual bullshit, just the fact five States including ruby red Utah currently have mail in voting with few problems

1) Only five states are DOING mail-in voting and there are already several indications of significant voter fraud. :bs:

2) Democrat voter fraud happening in a red state means Democrats will not be able to cheat elsewhere? Nice logic.

invalidates all the talk radio rhetoric these Trumpkins keep regurgitating

Your mind-numbing ad hominem diversion aside...why can't you or anyone else explain the NEED for this (already proven to be cheatable) system if it isn't just about Democrats trying to cheat some more?

and that doesn't even include the numerous studies showing it doesn't perpetuate fraud.

Studies conducted by who? ACORN?

Let's see them.

Now in rebutal I'll get the usual personal narratives, and questionable studies, love the one from California where they took 34 illegal immigrants saying they voted to generalize that a million plus illegals voted

Hey look, just like always, every part of this Democrat prediction was wrong. :rofl2:

No one gave you anecdotal evidence (like Democrats always resort to), no one gave you studies, and no one brought up California. What's it like always being proven wrong?

And the flu nonsense is laughable

Then explain away these numbers:

Deaths in the U.S. from the ordinary flu in the last 6 months: 24k-62k

Deaths in the U.S. from COVID since January: 30,985

Not even as bad as the ordinary flu...and we were told the sky was falling.

100.webp

if you are worried of dying from the flu a five minute stop at your local drug store will ease your anxieties, what are you going to do if you are fearful of the corenavirus?

1) If you're worried about COVID, the solution is simple. Stop listening to the left's anti-science doomsday scaremongering and acquaint yourself with actual science, which shows COVID isn't even as bad as the ordinary flu.

2) Pointing out the existing flu vaccines and treatments reinforce MY argument, not yours, moron. :palm:

That just means there are that many more things driving down flu deaths...and they are STILL that much worse than COVID. Comprehend it yet? :awesome:

Tell us again now it is hoax and people shouldn't worry

Deaths in the U.S. from the ordinary flu in the last 6 months: 24k-62k

Deaths in the U.S. from COVID since January: 30,985

Not even as bad as the ordinary flu...and we were told the sky was falling.

What is this eight times I've posted this very simple fact obliterating your fear-mongering doomsday hysteria...and NO ONE can come up with an explanation. :rofl2:

Plus your "examiner" source doesn't come in

Government is about to re-open after the most shocking and utterly debunked anti-science farce of our lifetimes (the sniffles, made out to be the Apocalypse by the Demagogue Party), but Democrats mysteriously demand that we have mail-in voting all the way through November. Why would any rational person ever think that makes sense?

Oh yeah, because mail-in voting has already been proven to enable voter fraud. Meanwhile, Virginia's Midnight railroading through of every conceivable kind of lie-cheat-steal power grab by Democrats has now saw to it that no one even has to present an ID to vote. Somehow, we are to believe that blacks are too stupid and inferior to perform this incredibly Kindergarten and pedestrian task, so lifting a finger to protect election integrity in any way whatsoever must be racist.

You're saying Trump R,Closed the country over a fake Democrats hiax?

Wow republicans all of the sudden have principals!

Not since I was in high school. ';dunno:

Oh, wait. You're just being a semi-literate moron and misspelling basic words again.

And the people who just blackmailed the country for partisan payoffs and power grabs in the middle if a major national crisis are bringing up principles? :rofl2:

Literally you've turned several states into effective dictatorships to cement your grip on power

A perfect demonstration of what only Democrats have done (see Michigan). :bs:

giphy.webp

and your have the gall to critiscize us?

Of course we "critiscize" you. You're the semi-literate morons shredding the Constitution to maximize all the power in this country into the hands of the few (what actual dictatorship looks like) while crying about imaginary dictatorships like an embarrassing moron. :palm:

We have a responsibility to avoid the Republicans ever turning Virginia into a dictatorship line Wisconsin!

You have a duty to protect against cartoonishly unrealistic imaginary threats?

Someone needs to lay down the crack pipe. :rofl2:

THEY WERE AGAINST MAIL VOTING BEFORE THEY WERE FOR IT

From ultra-liberal Slate, in 2016:

Voter fraud does happen. As election law expert and occasional Slate contributor Rick Hasen has explained, voter fraud occurs through absentee ballots.

The vast majority of voter fraud prosecutions involve absentee ballots that were illegally cast.

The only voting fraud schemes with the potential to actually swing elections involved mail-in ballots. This makes sense: It’s much easier to forge a signature, impersonate a voter, or buy a vote in the privacy of one’s home than it is in a voting booth at the polls.

If Republicans were truly serious about eradicating voter fraud, they would severely restrict absentee voting, permitting it only when voters have a good excuse, like illness. Why don’t they do so? Because absentee ballots are widely considered to favor Republicans.

DEMOCRATS CLAIM HE WAS "SCANDAL-FREE", DON'T THEY?

Scandal-plagued ACORN may no longer exist, but its tarnished legacy lives on, as the activist group and its former employees faced criminal punishment.

At least 18 former workers have admitted guilt or been convicted on varying charges of election fraud. The punishment ranged from probation to prison time.

ACORN, once a powerful advocate for low-income and minority voters, shuttered its operations amid plummeting revenues six months after conservative activists caught the group's employees offering them tax advice.

In Miami, seven former ACORN voter registration canvassers were convicted of "false swearing-in an election," and sentenced to probation and community service and banned from participating in future political campaigns, according to court documents.

In Pennsylvania, six of seven former ACORN workers who were charged in an investigation were convicted of unsworn falsification and interference with election officials.

Charges against the seventh, Eric Jordan, were not prosecuted because Jordan pled guilty to much more serious charges, including aggravated assault, resisting arrest and carrying firearms without a license.

In Milwaukee, three former ACORN workers have been convicted of election fraud.

Kevin Clancy was sentenced to 10 months in prison for his role in submitting falsified voter registration forms before the 2008 election.

Clancy's co-worker, Maria Miles, pleaded guilty to election fraud.

Frank Walton pleaded guilty to submitting 54 fake voter registrations during the 2008 presidential campaign.

In Washington state, Kendra Lynn Thill was convicted of voter registration fraud in the midterm election.

In Nevada, a former ACORN supervisor pleaded the equivalent of a no-contest in a case alleging that canvassers were illegally paid to register voters during the 2008 campaign. Amy Busefink's plea acknowledges the state had evidence for a conviction at trial, but her lawyer said she still plans to challenge the constitutionality of the state law prohibiting paying canvassers based on the number of voter registration forms they turn in.

They reorganized into another group with a different name. Nothing changed at all.

Don't you morons know how to post a fucking letter? What's the big deal? Why would you greys want to go outside and waddle to
some line when you could vote from the comfort of your retirement homes.

Translation: The only reason anyone could have a problem with mail-in voting is if they don't know how to mail things. Millions of missing ballots can't possibly be a valid concern.

Yeah sure the IDs are free

If the IDs were free and easy to get clearly you Republicans miswrote your law and will go back later to fix that mistake

This is just you assigning Disney villain motives to your opponent like a low-IQ Neanderthal instead of debating. :dunno:

Go lay down and eat your crayons, imbecile.
