In a Push to Re-Open Schools, Florida Governor Falsely Claims No One Under 25 Has Died from COVID-19 Nationwide

While Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis was expressing his desire to re-open schools in May despite the coronavirus pandemic, he falsely claimed the virus hasn’t killed anyone under age 25 nationwide.

Speaking on Thursday, DeSantis showed an astounding amount of ignorance on a topic he was championing when he told a gathering of teachers, parents and government officials, “This particular pandemic is one where I don’t think nationwide there’s been a single fatality under 25. For whatever reason, it just doesn’t seem to threaten, you know, kids.”

That is not true. At all. According to CNN’s reporting and the CDC, four people between the ages of 15 and 24 and one person between the ages of one and four have died from the coronavirus. And, an AP report said on Wednesday that a 7-week-old Connecticut infant who died tested positive for COVID-19.

Big Media's latest attempt to panic Floridians and Gulf coast states, a hurricane during a pandemic. The peak of the hurricane season is from mid-August to late October. If the pandemic is still going strong at that time a hurricane will be the least of our problems.

If Cuomo didn't shut down NY about 5 weeks ago.
The numbers would be at least twice as high.

If DeSantis had shut down Florida 5 weeks age the numbers would be at least 2 times lower.

DeSantis did nothing, still doing nothing, just like Trump, talks too much, but does nothing, he didn't shut down anything because the local Governmemts already did, they are responsible for the low statistics in Florida, and for a State based largely on the sevice industry and tourism, Florida ain't going anywhere anytime soon

He sent the National Guard to greet travelers at Florida’s biggest airports. Passengers arriving on direct flights from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, where the number of infections is high, are required to quarantine for 14 days. Law enforcement will keep tabs on their whereabouts. The executive order also applies to people arriving by car.

Imagine what would be happening here with Gillum as Governor.

DeSantis record will stand on its own. The majority of Florida is pleased with the job he is doing. Election butthurt over Hillary's stunning loss has no bearing on his job performance or the opinions of regular voters.
