Dimwits often need visual representations

Nice demonstration. Viruses are, of course, smaller than the aerosol he was demonstrating with.

yes but vape aerosol is pretty small and a handy visual representation of the effect of the quite small things we are hoping to inhibit. As the OP suggests, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.

as it happens this is why CDC originally poo pooed masks, they were not effective. Then science gave way to politics and it all went downhill from there.

It's much larger than any virus.

I don't hope to inhibit covid19 using masks. Who is 'we'?
As the OP suggests, sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.
Depends on the picture, as always!

There was never any science involved. This is about engineering, not science.

Sorry, losers. Your “doctor” is a liar and/or a fake.

Vape aerosols are 120-450nm, depending on a couple different sources.
Which is still larger than a virus.
Cough and sneeze aerosols are 1000-100,000nm.

Not even close.
Irrelevant.

Yup. These are psuedo-scientists.

Science isn't scientists, dumbass. Science is a set of falsifiable theories. It is not a government agency. It is not a research paper or study. It is not a computer model (the subject of the research paper you pointed to). It does not use consensus. It has no politics. It has no religion. It is not any scientist or group of scientists. It is not even people at all.

Science is a set of falsifiable theories. That's it. That's all. No more. No less.

You are still arguing paradox M. You are still denying the N95 specification. You deny science, engineering, mathematics, and logic.

Attempted proof by false authority.

Not really. This is a case of affirming a consequent and explained this way:

Researchers test masks in a laboratory setting. They film unmasked and masked people in various conditions like sneezing, coughing, etc. They conclude from these tests that masks reduce the amount of airborne whatever by some amount.

They then tell us, "Masks work!" The problem here is that if Chinese Disease isn't primarily spread by airborne aerosols like coughing and sneezing, then their conclusion is worthless. Thus, the few studies of populations masked and unmasked that show that the difference masks make in stemming the spread of Chinese Disease is small, typically 1 or 2% and within the margin of error for the study.

Expressed in mathematical terms, this is A (lab tests) mean that B (use of masks in the general population). That is, expressed in clear terms, Tests show that masks work in the lab, they'll work in general use. Where this fails is actual results in general use show that A =/= B and results in the fallacy of Affirming a consequent.

Please don't pretend to be a scientist.
