Diogenes was a really creepy philosopher

Socrates (/ˈsɒkrətiːz/;[2] Ancient Greek: Σωκράτης, romanized: Sōkrátēs; c. 470 –399 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher from Classical Athens, perhaps the first Western moral philosopher, and a major inspiration on his student Plato, who largely founded the tradition of Western philosophy. An enigmatic figure, Socrates authored no texts and is known mainly through the posthumous accounts of classical writers, particularly his students Plato and Xenophon. These accounts are written as dialogues, in which Socrates and his interlocutors examine a subject in the style of question and answer; they gave rise to the Socratic dialogue literary genre. Contradictory accounts of Socrates make a reconstruction of his philosophy nearly impossible, a situation known as the Socratic problem. Socrates was a polarizing figure in Athenian society. In 399 BC, he was accused of impiety and corrupting the youth. After a trialthat lasted a day, he was sentenced to death. As related by Plato, he was put to death by administration of poison after refusing offers from allies to help him escape.

It’s an opinion btw

Read what he proposed the meaning of life is

Do you agree with him

It was a very brosphere take on existence
An uninformed opinion.

I am certain I have read more about Diogenes than you ever will.

ocrates initiates the dialogue by asking his interlocutor for a definition of the subject. As he asks more questions, the interlocutor's answers eventually contradict the first definition. The conclusion is that the expert did not really know the definition in the first place. The interlocutor may come up with a different definition. That new definition, in turn, comes under the scrutiny of Socratic questioning. With each round of question and answer, Socrates and his interlocutor hope to approach the truth. More often, they continue to reveal their ignorance. Since the interlocutors' definitions most commonly represent the mainstream opinion on a matter, the discussion places doubt on the common opinion.

Socrates also tests his own opinions through the Socratic method. Thus Socrates does not teach a fixed philosophical doctrine. Rather, he acknowledges his own ignorance while searching for truth with his pupils and interlocutors

See that last paragraph

Why does the right in America refuse to self examine?

You grow angry when people ask you to examine your beliefs deeper

It’s as if you believe your world will be destroyed

You said he raped children. Silly. No one every said that of Diogenes.
People who say societies rules are never of any value to the individual are willing to do bad things

I think he very likely did rape children or whatever he felt like at the moment

He believed in chaos

I’ve been here since the site was started

That poster you tried to trash is a superior person to many here

You seem to be a bad judge of character
lol. Cypress is a bloated ego who is only on here to masturbate himself by name checking whatever philosopher or authority he read most recently. He has a surficial understanding but the goal is to make YOU think he’s smart.

The fact you fell for it says more about you.

😊
