Do the humanities need a rebrand?

Pretty sure what he's saying he did isn't that dangerous. It's more like surveying and testing places.
He doesn't know how to perform a survey or test a well.
Ground-penetrating radar, samples for analysis, stuff like that.
I wouldn't trust him with any explosives!
He ain't no Wildcatter. It's something someone with a degree in chemical engineering would be suited for.
He denies chemistry, so he obviously has no such degree.

He's just trying to puff himself up again. Narcissism.

You never drilled for oil, Cyborg! :cuss:
Petroleum exploration professionals find oil and gas, the rig crews drill it. The most physically demanding part of my job was staying up all night on the rig to examine and evaluate the geophysical well log results as it came in.

Could be all one needs is a Bachelor Degree to do that job. Idk.
:dunno:

Oil drillers drill wells for whoever is paying for it.

You were never on an oil rig.
Geophysical is not a word.
Drillers already know the status of the well.

I've been posting here 20 years without barely ever mentioning my work experiences. It was the stalker @Moosakofsky who for two weeks became obsessed with discussing/complaining about the minutia of my work experience and getting stressed out about it.

If you don't like the answers you're getting stop asking questions or whining about it.

Nope. Nothing beyond high school and a bit of local training on the equipment.
Drillers will stop work immediately if someone else comes near the drill site. It's too dangerous for such people wandering by to keep drilling.
Drillers have to know condition of and where every piece of heavy equipment and tubing is at all times and the condition of the cutting apparatus at all times. They usually stick newbies on the feed before letting them anywhere near the dogs or the crane.

@Cypress is saying he was the guy who determines the status of the well.
Pretty much like my relative. He explained it to me in short before Christmas dinner.
At the time, he was just consulting in the middle east and showing them how to do it.
The next topic was "Idiocracy". :rofl2:

Indeed I was.
@ the Carthage gas field in East Texas and the West Delta 73 oil and gas field offshore Louisiana in the gulf - either to monitor and assess the geophysical well logs, or to brief the drill crew on the gas prospect.

Other than that 98 percent of my job was data analysis in an air conditioned office.
