DOCTOR Jill

You have something against teachers or is it just Jill who makes you froth at the mouth?
I have nothing against teachers as a whole, but I will point out individual ones, like Jill, who is run-of-the-mill, average and nothing special, doctorate notwithstanding. She clearly makes herself out to be in a special class above many other teachers with her demand she be called "Doctor," among other things.

At least with Meliana Trump, she stays out of the picture pretty much about as much she can.

^Talk about damning with faint praise. The truth is Melania doesn't care, either about being First Lady or trump's wife. And it shows in everything she does.

You don't know anything about Jill except the lies of your right-wing sources. Jill taught school since the 1970s and only quit about a year ago. That means she was a teacher for close to 50 years, including the years she was First Lady, yet all you can do is denigrate her fourth degree. She has a bachelors, two masters and the Ph.D... she's not a stupid woman. What you think about her dissertaion is irrelevant; the university sets the criteria for a Ph.D and she fulfilled the requirements.

And if she wants to be called "Doctor" in her public life, so what? Henry Kissinger and Condoleezza Rice did the same That should be the least of your criticisms of her. Bottom line, she's a highly-educated liberal and that's anathema to you.

Jill Biden's dissertation has faced criticism primarily due to an op-ed that questioned the legitimacy of her academic title, suggesting that her doctorate in education is less valid than a medical degree. This sparked backlash, with many arguing that the criticism reflects sexist attitudes towards women in academia and undermines her hard work and qualifications.

Criticism of Jill Biden's Dissertation

Background of the Controversy

Jill Biden's dissertation has come under scrutiny primarily due to an op-ed published by Joseph Epstein. In this piece, Epstein suggested that Biden should stop using the title "Dr." because her doctorate is in education, not medicine. He described her title as "fraudulent" and "comic," which ignited significant backlash.

Key Points of Criticism

  • Questioning Legitimacy: Epstein's argument implies that a doctorate in education is less valid than a medical degree, which many see as an unfair comparison.
  • Sexist Undertones: The criticism has been widely interpreted as reflecting sexist attitudes towards women in academia. Many supporters argue that it undermines the hard work and qualifications of women who earn their doctorates.

Public Response

The backlash against Epstein's op-ed was swift and widespread. Many defended Jill Biden, emphasizing that her academic achievements should be respected. Notable figures, including Doug Emhoff, the husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, highlighted that such criticism would likely not have been directed at a male academic.

Conclusion

The criticism of Jill Biden's dissertation is not just about her academic work; it also raises broader issues regarding gender bias in academia and the respect afforded to women's educational achievements.

I'm good with that. We didn't elect her to do squat. That she doesn't do squat is a good thing. Better than having an activist First Lady like Michelle Obama fucking things up (like her school lunch program).

I have posted her PhD dissertation here several times in other threads. It's dreck. It's easily half filler material that has nothing to do with the thesis topic. So, she taught school. That doesn't mean she was outstanding at it. I denigrate her only because she self-inflates her worth far beyond what it is.

It's arrogant and narcissistic. She is a mediocre intellect who got a PhD from a mediocre university. It's like her hubby trying to tell us he's some sort of super great lawyer and legal scholar.

She’s got an Ed.D. not a Pd.D.
My sister is ditzy as all get out and has a M.Ed. and an Ed.D. She took a few more fluff courses and wrote a paper to get them because she hadn’t achieved her primary goal of getting married yet.
Anyone graduating from law school has a Juris Doctorate and we don’t refer to them as “Dr.”.
I have a D.D.S and introduced myself to new patients by my first name. The Dr. title always sounded a bit pompous to me.
Even more so for someone with an Ed.D.
But the more I learned about Jill from the book Original Sin the more I understood why she insists on being called doctor. She’s ego driven, selfish and phony as hell.

And by the way, I took one education course in undergraduate school and only showed up to take the exams for which I studied an hour at most before the tests. Easiest A I ever made.
