My point is it isn’t necessarily racist: The Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamist *organization* and Muslim isn’t even a race, so that’s out. And the Planet of the Apes reference wasn’t necessarily a reference to Jarrett’s ethnicity. It could have been about her looks.

Offensive? Absolutely. Stupid? Yes. Racist? Depends on how it’s interpreted.

Yep. Telling though that when some Trump-supporting racist idiot self-immolates, suddenly it's the "Left's" fault (whatever the "Left" is supposed to be). But when an Anthony Weiner or an Al Franken do it to themselves and go down in flames, it's just justice and only their own fault. Weird how that happens, isn't it?

Let's put it this way. Most Americans over the age of five are aware that comparing a black/brown person to an ape is 1) wrong, 2) hurtful, and 3) racist. Even Roseanne admitted that she was wrong.... yet here *you* are, defending what she tweeted and making excuses.

Do you enjoy playing Devil's Advocate, is that why? I can respect that. But you can see why some of us see that as a belief that she did nothing wrong.

1) I’m not defending her or the Tweet and I’m not going to repeat myself about it

2) my only point is that whether there *was a racist intent* behind the Tweet requires that you get into the other person’s head.

I reserve calling out racism when no mind reading is required. And I’m sure there are people reading this who have seen me do it. Probably more than once.
