Electoral College Watch Thread

This is being written the morning after the election and we still don't know the outcome.

Here is a link to the PBS website Electoral Map, which is tallying the results as the venerable AP calls them.

Here is a link to Real Clear Politics pre-election Electoral Map which shows how many electoral votes per State.

Now, all we can do is wait for the counting to be done.

Currently we have Biden 238, Trump 213.

Biden is leading the counts in Nevada (6 Electoral Votes,) and Wisconsin (10 Electoral Votes.)

If he takes both of those that would bump his total to

238 + 16 = 254

That would leave him just 16 Electoral Votes away from 270.

Michigan has 16 Electoral Votes.

Trump has an early lead in Michigan, but now they are counting the mail-in votes, so it is possible that Biden could overtake Trump, and that would hand the presidency to Biden. Pennsylvania not required.

It's interesting that Georgia and North Carolina are still too close to call.

That's not good for Republicans.

In the past these would not have been in play.

Is the South possibly turning blue?

It is definitely leaning towards Biden.

And the more mail-in votes that are counted, the better it should get for Biden.

The nation has been narrowly divided for several elections now. IMO, it's more about Democrat vs. Republican than one person vs. another.

Trump didn't even accept the last election without claims of fraud. He's a fucking moron.

The Fox indicator thingie says 95% chance Biden wins Michigan.

Biden has 238. He leads in Nevada and Wisconsin.

That adds another 16.

If Biden takes Michigan, another 16, that gives him 270.

Hoo-boy.

What's wrong with me?

If my math is correct, and assuming Biden maintains his leads in Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, that gets him to 271 electoral votes.
