The EU plans to ban US travelers indefinitely after haphazard COVID-19 response

The European Union plans to ban travel from the US when it reopens its borders on July 1st because of the Trump administration’s poor handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a report from The New York Times.

Under current plans, the US would join Brazil and Russia on the list of forbidden countries, as all three countries have had comparably poor responses to the virus since the worldwide outbreak at the beginning of the year.

Travel from China, as well as some developing countries, will be allowed, the report states.

That is just tourists. Not trade. It only hurts them economically.

Trump says will be lifting the ban in the near future on nations perceived to be a low risk.

EU is considering an indefinite ban on American travelers because along with Russia and Brazil, our nation's response to the pandemic is subpar and pitiful.

That is what concerns me. I do not want to be blacklisted and prevented from travel because of the ineptitude of our Federal government and national response to COVID.

Even China is reportedly slated for consideration in getting off EU's blacklist. China did better than us. That is really saying something

Not just tourism. It is business travel, so it is going to hit us hard. Even tourism hits us too, because there are a lot of tourists who come to the USA.

great. The last thing you want to do right now is to encourage your citizens to become foreign tourists. If the economy is to recover faster you want them to spend what money they still have inside your own economy. Americans should be banned worldwide for the next year at least.

And yet China's not banned, the EU is equally responsible for the Kung Flu outbreak in the US as China as they didn't follow Trump's lead and instead listened to China and their lap dogs at the WHO and didn't implement travel restrictions and quarantines on Wuhan and then their infected came to the US via NYC.

Regardless this is retribution for Trump restricting foreign worker Visas.

By the standards of the developed world, our infection rates are among the worst.

That is on Trump. Your president to this day is holding huge rallies and not requiring people to wear masks.

He won't even set a good example by wearing a mask himself

He has downplayed or lied about this pandemic for six months. Especially in critical early months.

Even communist China has done better addressing the pandemic.

Your president is the sole reason we are being turned into a dysfunctional pariah state

Any ralllies on Saturday don't effect any infection rate/ riots and protests have bbeen going on for months-
and the mean age of infections has been going down (reflecting younger age) who are in the streets or wont wear masks
We've tested 27/5 million people -no other nation comes close, but or morbidity rate has dropped as well
because of it

Nations of EU think China did better.

Our infection rate is among the worst in the developed world.

Trump publically stated he tried to slow the testing for political reasons.

Trump doesn't make or ask people to wear masks at his indoor rallies.

He has never even set a good example by wearing a mask himself

Trump said five months ago we would soon be down to zero cases.

Trump said COVID would probably dissapear like a miracle by April.

TrumpCo said five months ago this thing was under control

TrumpCo and his deplorables suggested this thing was no worse than the common cold.
