while i think nuclear can and should play a huge roll in all future energy needs, Oil and gas need to be phased entirely out eventually. Wind and Solar can then supply the smaller needs as a compliment to Nuclear so everything is not sole source.

You are wrong here too. The Left is mocking Trump. The rest of us either don't give a shit about him or are at least reasonably satisfied with him. But the Left? They are in insane hate TDS mode like never before.
Oil and gas will still be needed. Fertilizer is made with methane. Lubricants and plastics with oil. Even many medicines use things like benzene rings in their formulation. Even if we don't use it for energy, we need it for a vast array of other uses. Wind and solar are WORTHLESS except as niche sources were nothing else will work. They are inefficient, unreliable, and expensive.
Nuclear needs a good back up and that's natural gas for now. You can bring a gas turbine peaking plant on or off line quickly and it produces relatively little pollution in comparison to its energy output.

Petroleum is a renewable fuel.
Methane is a renewable fuel.

Solar power is the single most expensive method of generating electricity by far.
Wind is the 2nd most expensive.
Both are piddle power.
The SDTC has lost several large solar power stations, because they have lost government funding keeping them open. They have to be subsidized.
