We have several in Texas as "express lanes". When I have to drive to Dallas for medical appointments, it's worth the $20 round trip to pay the toll.
Now that's thief.
It's not required to take the express lane. I can join the bumper-to-bumper rush hour traffic. LOL

A main reason I dislike cities is the traffic.

Because government can't fix those problems entirely. Highly socialist and communist countries have homeless and starving children. The later more often due to lack of food availability than neglect, which is usually why this occurs in a capitalist, less socialist, country.

Heh. It HAS happened!
After the SR520 bridge (The Evergreen Point Floating bridge) was paid off, the 35 cent toll was removed.
The same thing happened with the I-90 bridge (the Lacy V Murrow bridge, otherwise known as the 'old' floating bridge). It had a toll of 10 cents, and was later removed.
This has happened in Texas as well. You will see wide areas of roadway where tollbooths used to exist, but don't anymore.
Today, of course, Democrats have discovered tolling as another taxing source to 'punish gasoline users', and the use of cameras to collect tolls. Those don't go away (at least not yet!).

No, they are a common good. Public roads and highways are not constructed for some special group or individual.
You are made to pay for them, regardless of how you like it or use them. That's thief.

Capitalism frees anyone to create wealth. It is the best means for those in poverty to lift themselves out of poverty. Their children won't need to starve anymore.

But they are painted for special interests groups. Like 16th St NW was in Washington, DC.
Hence socialist programs.
