The government didn't do that. People who are rich hired people who are smart to figure out how to legally avoid paying taxes. That's the government's stupidity on display there.

I already nullified this nonsense argument that you can have Elon Musk pay 1% tax on earnings of $100b (1b) and the MC paying 30% on $80,000 ($24k) and simply because Elon is paying more in total... that makes it fair, burden wise. It does not.

By that logic you can give Elon a cut to 0.1% and then 0.01% while raising the MC to 90% and still say 'ya but Elon pays more'.

And that excelerates Elon getting richer and the MC getting poorer.
 
They have the most in dollars


They use the infrastructure of our nation at much larger rates


Our system makes it possible for them to enrich their bottom line


They need to pay at a level that is commiserate to their use


If they don’t like it


They can take their business to another nation


They are free to leave


There are massive amounts of humans who will merely replace their greedy asses


It’s right wing fantasy to claim this nation would never be able to replace them
