He never asserted executive privilege.
Not allowing access to administration members (or former ones) is asserting executive privilege. He doesn't have to say "executive privilege" as if it's some sort of incantation.

Trump could barely get away with jaywalking lol.
Seriously, some of you need a reality check.
It’s called an analogy,Walter.
bright, erudite conservatives on this forum.

He'd be impeached for it and tried in the senate but would eventually get away with it.Trump could barely get away with jaywalking lol.
How can anybody say that? He's had no "near miss" yet. Mueller "investigation" - flop.“The president never views a near-miss as an opportunity for reflection and reformation,” warned Michael Gerson.
Yes, but it hadn't become entrenched in the minds of the rest of the party to the point that they wanted to destroy the govt like they do today.
In Reagan's day there were still old line Republicans who understood that compromise was the way things got done in Washington. Sure, nothing happened overnight, but they knew that's the way the world worked.
And they still had integrity and respect for the institutions and its rules and the decorum and protocols, etc.
Nowadays they're a bunch of shameless, spineless cretins who are willing to allow a grifter, con artist carnival barker palooka with a cult following to shit and piss all over it all just to save their own skins.
Worse yet, some of them actually admire what Trump is.
These are frightening, worrisome times for anyone with an ounce of reverence and respect for the traditions that made this country great.
That's why that whole "MAGA" thing is so galling and filled with irony.
Great is the exact opposite of what Trump and his spineless, sycophantic minions are making America.
The party definitely became more combative, at least in the House, once Newt took over. They had gotten their ass*s kicked in the House for over 30 years straight I believe. Newt changed that.
The nature of the electorate has changed as well. We used to have liberal Republicans and conservative Democrats. Very few of those today, at least in elected office. Many of us put ideological purity test on folks running and that works to eliminate traditional statesmanship and co-operation.
I'm mildly curious about who you will support this Nov. You seem very coy.
Depending on who it is most likely the Libertarian candidate again. Zero chance I'm voting for a Democrat for President and I can't pull the trigger for Trump. But to be totally honest its not something I really think about because I live in California and it doesn't matter what I do (not that I would change my vote if I were in a swing state). But you're right, I don't speak about it much. I've said before, in 2000 I was emotionally all in on Bush. I thought he was going to make up for the mistakes of his father and be Reagan Part 2. Clearly he didn't come close and since then I've lost my ability to get excited about any politician.
Now I'm in a weird place. I'm a lifelong Republican who didn't vote for the current Republican President. It's not that I don't care about what goes on but I don't have the emotional attachment right now others do.
Trump is neither Democrat nor Republican, really. He is a political outsider...who has been a staunch 1st and 2nd Amendment , defender, tax and reg cutter, built up our military, while seeking to bring our troops home.
He is focused on US, and couldn't care less if the rest of the world "likes" him.
I didn't know what to expect from his presidency, but now, I must admit, he has been outstanding.
I also don't give a shit about the NYC Construction Worker personality (that's who he was raised around, after all!)...or "Tweet" of the day.
It's his POLICIES and ACTIONS that make him the clear and obvious choice, IMHO.
