Explain Trump

He has never told the truth in his life. He's a proven con man. He routinely stiffed contractors and other businesses on payments. He made fun of a disabled guy. He disparaged POW's and the military. He hates women. He swindled supporters out of hard-earned cash with a classic fine-print grift that automated contributions. He insulted the wives, fathers and other family of allies in his own party. He incited an insurrection with lies. He led the bogus and racist birther movement.

He's a pathetically insecure man, with no real vision or courage. We've never had someone with such a frail ego leading a national party.

Generally, when a candidate loses a Presidential election, their party moves on without looking back. That candidate is usually marginalized and forgotten.

But not Trump. As Graham stated, there really is no GOP without him anymore. The party is a cult of personality.

Why is that? Can anyone explain Trump?

Trump is a simple phenomenon he expresses the fear and hatred the right wing has for lgbtq and panders to right wing racism

What's to understand, they are idiots and so is he. Trump managed to distill the idiots away from the normal people.

A cult of personality, or cult of the leader, arises when a country's regime – or, more rarely, an individual – uses the techniques of mass media, propaganda, the big lie, FAKE NEWS, CONSPIRACY THEORIES, MILITARY PARADES, spectacle, the arts, RELIGION, patriotism, and government-organized demonstrations and rallies to create an idealized, heroic, and worshipful image of a leader, often through unquestioning flattery and praise. A cult of personality is similar to apotheosis, except that it is established by modern social engineering techniques, usually by the state or the party in one-party states and dominant-party states. It is often seen in totalitarian or authoritarian countries.

CULT- a misplaced or excessive admiration for a particular person or thing.

So perfect

Trump is a result, not a causal factor. The USA is in transition from being the world's foremost power to simply being a power among other powers with the end of the Cold War.

There's truth to the concept of binding a group with a common enemy. When the USSR collapsed, that 45 year binding dissolved. Immediately there was controversy about which direction to go. The Democrats were busy turning guns into butter and the Republicans, post-Reagan, began looking for issues to bind their party. They settled upon abortion and gay marriage.

Ten years later was 9/11. First, it should never have gotten that far, but Congress was too busy with their own issues to deal with it until the Towers fell. Then they fucked up by leaving the war in Afghanistan half finished and started a war in Iraq. That fucked us up too. Social change is slow and I think the Trump years are a watershed moment for us, but we still might have another 10-20 years to go before we successfully reinvent ourselves.

As for retread candidates; didn't Hillary disprove that? She lost in 2008 and ran again in 2016.

Putin has some special tea for you
He's actually being teabagged by his King, Rama-Lama-Ding-Dong or some other fucked up name.

What is it about fucking foreigners, most of whom have never been to the US, seeking to give their two cents worth about how Americans run our own country?
