”San Jose could set a precedent by requiring gun insurance”

“San Jose may become the first city in the nation to mandate an annual gun owner fee and liability insurance in an effort to curb gun violence.”

“The City Council will take a vote on Tuesday and if passed, San Jose residents who own guns will have to pay a $25 fee per household and purchase gun insurance that specifically covers losses or damages resulting from “any negligent or accidental use of the firearm” in six months, according to the ordinance.”

Amazing it has taken this long, treating guns just as we do vehicles, especially liability requirements, and before the gun nuts begin, every Constitutional right can and is regulated, Second Amendment isn’t any different

How will that stop shootings?

Are gang bangers going to purchase the gun insurance?

How will they enforce something as ridiculous as this?

How will they know what you have if your firearms aren't registered? (only 3 of mine are, and I'm considering selling 2 of them)

It's astounding that you think this is "intelligent gun regulations". There aren't enough words to accurately describe how stupid you are if you actually believe that shit.

Remember this shit makes them feeeereeeel better and isn't that all that really matters?

Besides I think their master plan is to ultimately make gun ownership by law abiding citizens so repressive that people will just abandon the thought of getting one. Oh course that will leave us all more vulnerable but refer back to the part about their feeeeeeeeeeeeelings..

Tomorrow, probably won’t, but down the road, the more one can lessen accessibility to guns today effects the greater number of guns in circulation later. And it isn’t the gangbanger doing the mass shootings in schools, malls, churches, theaters, retirement homes, places of employment, salons, outdoor concerts, etc.

You haven’t come up with any words to refute it, nor offered anything in its place, must be you have no problem with some dimwit massacring elementary school children with semi automatic weapons

This is good. Explain to me in detail how this law would have prevented "...some dimwit massacring elementary school children with semi automatic weapons." I sincerely want to hear your answer.

Awesome. Can't wait until we bring back poll taxes and monetize other rights. Goooooooo Democrats! LOL

Personally, I favor requiring all citizens to have to pass a citizenship exam prior to voting. Annually. California is setting a precedent here.

Driving is a privilege not a right

Just charge for all rights like voting, free speech, computer ownership, etc.

Think about it; all the intelligent people will keep their rights and all the dumbasses will be out of the way.

Interesting, the one who couldn’t answer the simple question I asked now wants detailed answers to one he raised, but if he had read, I already addressed the obvious, by tomorrow it probably won’t, but down the road, the more one can lessen accessibility to guns today effects the greater number of guns in circulation later.

They just do mass shootings on a weekly basis in every big blue run city...22 shot, 5 fatally, in this past weekend violence...including 8-year-old girl CPD says

Shot & Killed: 35
Shot & Wounded: 147

As of week 3 of this year in Chicago

Why is gun insurance a bad idea? Comparing it to a poll tax, really?

He/she/alphabet doesn't think. This is just another anti gun troll post.

So I'll support this if we make people register and pay a fee to get an abortion and to vote.

Why would one bring back poll taxes when there is no need to deny others their vote?

Then, by your argument, voting, free speech and all other rights can be the playground of the rich and the poor get shafted again.

Now you know why 70% of Americans aren't Democrats.
