Finally some judicial sanity on Civil War memorials.

Since when is common sense an illness? Oh, sorry "it is" to those of you that don't have any. Thanks for confirming you fall into that group.
Thanks for confirming your derangement. You don't display any common sense.

Sorry dipshit but the leaders along with the members of the Confederate army were Americans just like their counterparts in the north. But it is evident that your liberal school education taught you the incorrect information.

"civ·il war
/ˌsivil ˈwô(ə)r/
noun
noun: civil war; plural noun: civil wars
a war between citizens of the same country."

BTW your link you are so proud of confirmed my position.
And they were all traitors.

Do only statues represent what happened in the past? Taking down statues isn't erasing the past at all. They should be protected in a museum.

Agree. I don't want to see Civil War statues destroyed. Many of them are works of art. Put them in the history section of the local museum instead. Those who find them offensive are free to avoid that section; those who want to admire them are free to do so as well.

How about instead of putting them in a museum, we demolish the monuments, dig up their graves, and toss whatever remains into the ocean?
Why should traitors get to rest in peace? Why should they get to have their legacy protected?

I can't agree with that. That's exactly what the Reichwingers are claiming that removing a Civil War statue is equivalent to.

still celebrating the destroying of inanimate objects are you? and questioning someone elses common sense at the same time?

:rofl2: that's rich moonbat
You appear to be another lacking common sense, as well as any moral principles. Defending treason.

The Taliban, ISIS and the radical Democrat Socialists want to destroy historical monuments and statues.
The alt-right sycophants want to honor treason. Which helps explain why they blindly follow Trump.

All I can say about you is

ADDED: BTW fighting over the meanings behind civil war monuments is the height of insanity.
Demonstrating that you lack common sense.

Good point but I don't see how or why he jumped to the crusades when I was referring to the Taliban being just like the anti civil war memorial crowd. I guess it's because the left's brain is wired differently just like men and women are wired differently.
The right tends to not have any brains at all.

I'm fine with a museum personally. But destroying statues is erasing the past and tradition. It's what ISIS does. It's superstitious. It's based on presentism, a false conception of history.
Destroying monuments to treason is not erasing the past. The past is still there in our history books. All those monuments do is glorify treason.

So they retained the States of America, which would imply that they were still Americans.

:truestory:

Are residents of Victoria and Vancouver, BC, still British? I say unless everyone else in the Americas are American, then the Confederates are not. That is a privilege exclusive to citizenship in the greatest part of the Americas. Plus, these were people who hated America. So much so that Lincoln only planned to have 10% of them swear an oath of loyalty in Reconstruction, because, he knew that 50%+1 would be unobtainable for the remainder of the century.

The civil war was a war for slavery. The south lost. The good people won. Any memorial allowed to exist should communicate what I wrote.
If not, tear it down

Do Canadians refer to themselves as Americans; because otherwise your attempt to refute my comments has failed??

Confederates didn't refer to themselves as Americans. They referred to themselves as Virginians, Carolinians, Georgians, Floridians, etc. Looks like you fail.
