It rarely effects (symptomatic display) kids, they are poor transmitters and is still experimental

And it is vastly understated. As is the number of breakthrough cases. I am almost 100% sure my wife and I now both have it. I’d know for sure but here in Jacksonville you cannot get a rapid Covid test. Nor can you get anywhere near an urgent care(the three we tried had stopped taking appointments by ten A.M yesterday. We had to go to an ER just to get tested and the turnaround time is three days. There are now massive numbers of breakthrough cases. Not a snowballs chance in hell there are only 4,000 in the entire country. Does this mean the vaccine doesn’t work? No. I doubt there is anyone in this state that hasn’t been exposed. It’s that bad. So the next time someone says ‘you’re vaxxed why do you care’ I’ll have an answer. My wife and I are primary caregivers for my parents. I now have to arrange help for them. My kid can’t work. All of this because these selfish assholes refuse to be vaccinated. This is nasty even having been vaxxed. I don’t believe anything can stop it here now and we are going to have thousands of unnecessary deaths in Florida. And I for one am not going to forget this come next November. I am angry beyond belief. There will be a price to pay.

Most people who get tested get a negative result.

Regardless, I too will definitely be voting for common sense next November.

I'm pretty sure I've got it unfortunately. I was exposed twice and my symptoms and her symptoms just match up. Anecdotally there are now many breakthrough cases (look at all the MLB and Olympic athletes that are testing positive after being vaxxed and imagine how much of that is happening out in the real world). And the huge crowds in urgent care are just another sign of how bad this has gotten. I tried to schedule a rapid test at Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart. I could not get a single appointment at any of those places in the entire Jacksonville area for the next week. So we are in the soup, this appears to be on a track to be way worse than the winter outbreak, and all we hear from the apologists is excuses and made up conspiracy theories about Brazilian Tourists and infected immigrants being flown into Florida. They refuse to acknowledge the real problem. Which is vaccine defiance. They consider it a badge of honor NOT to be vaccinated. And they bash public health officials instead of heeding their advice. I don't know what the answer is. Because there appears to be no way to reach them. Logic doesn't work. Facts don't work. Pleading and cajoling doesn't work. Incentives don't appear to work. They are a cult. Trump is their leader. And he is not going away.

I'd add that the positivity rate in Florida is ????? because DeSantis refuses to report it. He doesn't want you to know. My guess is that it is similar to Alabama, which as of today is at 40% FORTY PERCENT. Wrap your head around that one.

We have jerks in California also. On a flight yesterday some MAGA asshole had to be twice warned while taxiing to put up his mask. They took
a yellow card and hung it on his seat. Another and they would have turned the plane around and banned his ass. I loved that they shamed him.
