For those who love to blame boomers for EVERYTHING wrong in the country....

Oh,...so it wasn't a stupid meme ? So there was no war to be fought in if you were born in 1949? hmmm........sure could have fooled these guys.
The Vietnam Wall

The meme was stupid. Just admit it and take your licks,....its no big deal. The first statement it made was woefully incorrect.

My boy Stoney loves to ride my baloney pony, and speaking of licks, he licks it like a lollipop. Feels good when he takes his dentures out. Well, he can't get it up any more.

Now i'll stay here on and off all day long,...just to be an asshole....Wheres my charger at! :ROFLMAO:

you can be here as long as you want.

fuck haters.
Wife and I are both quite tired today,...shes been napping on and off all day. Our Daughter and SIL came to visit yesterday and we were up quite late. Plus it has been a longggggggg week. Don't feel like doing much at all but kicking back on the lazy boy. maybe watch a ball game later if I can stay awake...LOL

sounds like somebody's living the dream!

that's awesome.

And as a kid I recall my generation blaming their elders for just about everything, and in many cases we were correct
I don't think anyone is suggesting young people blaming older people today for issues like housing is something new.

EXTREMELY Stupid meme by the way. Someone born in 1949 would have been 19 years old in 68.
I am actually going to defend Diogenes here. Sometimes it seems like there were two different 60's. Some people had to fight in a war, but others were in a class that did not. It is completely valid for someone like trump did not have to fight in a war.

What were the home values 38 yrs. prior to my purchasing my home 38 yrs. ago? Approx. half, or less what I paid.
I have done many improvements over the years, why shouldn't it be worth twice what I paid back then?
If your house has only doubled in value in 38 years, you have lost a lot of money. That is an increase of 1.8% per year. That is not even keeping up with inflation. Housing prices have more than quadrupled in that time, so your house has comparatively lost over half its value. This is a disaster for you.

I'm a boomer born in 49, and my first full time job was at a car wash wiping down the cars as they came through. I was getting paid $1.95 an hour, and I can't ever remember getting any tips.
Assuming you got your first job at 16, your inflation adjusted wages were $21 an hour. No 16 year old gets $21 an hour for wiping down cars today. Getting paid $21 an hour at age 16, and you were asking where were your tips?

Where are you getting this adjusted wages as being $21 an hour? LMFAO! I was 16 years old when I got that carwash job, and I was being paid less than $2 an hour. FACT, FACT, FACT.

Where are you getting this adjusted wages as being $21 an hour?
If you were born in 1949, and were making $1.95 at age 16, you were making $1.95 in 1965. We then enter that into a inflation calculator, and come up with something $20.61 to $20.67. That is a very high wage for a kid today, and certainly nothing to complain about.

Back in 1965, the average wages was $4,122, while today the average is $69,846. So to get your same position in society, you would have to get paid $33 an hour. That is an insanely high amount of money for a teen today. No teens today have it as good as you did back then.

Which is why teen participation in the workforce has dropped. You do not pay people much, they chose not to work for you. It is called capitalism.
