General Mattis tells us like it is!

General Mattis, probably believe in the principal that this country if founded on, and Trump is trying to dissolve the US Constitution and set-up himself as dictator, so it is General Mattis's duty to speak-up.

Duties of the Secretary of State. Under the Constitution, the President of the United States determines U.S. foreign policy. The Secretary of State, appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate, is the President's chief foreign affairs adviser.

So Earl, you've got no problems with Trump subverting the constitution and setting himself as dictator.

Earl, what about psychotic Trump?????????????

This has been explained to you already, Trumper.

The Yale psychiatrist did not conduct a personal, on site, clinical evaluation of the president.

He violated ethics of psychiatry.

A Secretary of Defense is required to follow the foreign policy of the sitting president.

If he doesn't he should be fired.

Yup, and we should listen to him when he speaks out, they do not do that lightly.

Earl, most people don't need a psychiatrist's evaluation to see that Trump is psychotic.

When people make the comparison, there is an instant freak-out - like every single thing is being compared.

Comparing Trump to Hitler doesn't mean he's a genocidal maniac. But it's okay to talk about the concept that they both use the same manipulation, division & scapegoating techniques in their rhetoric. It's like they both went to the same school for that or something; it's fairly uncanny.

LIke him or not, Hitler was not weak. Trump is weak.

Trump has almost 40% support, but if he started taking any action, he would lose at least 10% of it.

Foreign policy is not his job and now he has no job. Advising was his job. He did not agree with the president and left but he didn't remain silent as he said he should.

Gen. Mattis:

“The duty of silence. If you leave an administration, you owe some silence. When you leave an administration over clear policy differences, you need to give the people who are still there as much opportunity as possible to defend the country. They still have the responsibility of protecting this great big experiment of ours. I know the malevolence some people feel for this country, and we have to give the people who are protecting us some time to carry out their duties without me adding my criticism to the cacophony that is right now so poisonous.”

Foreign policy is set by the president.

The General is an American hero for his military service but he no longer was in the military as the Sec. of Defense.

Earl
Sorry but you are wrong.
Main Duties
The main job of the U.S. secretary of defense is to plan, develop and execute policies that concern the military affairs and national security of the country.
The president has final say but the SECDEF is responsible to ensure the president has all the facts prior to making a decision.

Trump does not sit in the white house and make these plans alone, he has others to do that for him. His sole purpose is to review and modify, reject, or approve the plans. So when he makes changes it is the responsibility of his advisors to tell he if they believe he is making a mistake. Like it or not Trump's EGO will not allow anyone to tell him he is wrong about anything.

So, if... the sitting President happens to be a paranoid half-wit who only managed to keep his job because of the craven, partisan boot-licking of his own political party which controls the Senate...

and... this lunatic suddenly gets a wild hair up his ass and decides we should nuke a major foreign capital in a fit of anger over some personal resentment, knowing it could start WWIII and cost millions of lives including here in the US...

then... the SoD should just mindlessly carry out the order and if he doesn't, he should be fired and replaced by a yes man who will be willing to put the world and mankind on the brink of annihilation?

Does that pretty much describe your ignorant, simple-minded hillbilly POV, Merle?

Please.... don't ever multiply.

A fired employee.

I knew you were lying about officers and were secretly jealous of them. General Mattis is highly respected within the Marine Corps and other services. To equate him to a pissed off worker at Walmart is ridiculous and serves only to tar his career for political reasons in order to support a draft-dodging coward and serial adulterer.

Free speech is right.

Gen. Mattix is a military hero but he was the Sec. of Defense and the president sets foreign policy...not the Sec. of Defense.

So trump should eliminate the position? The fact is there is supposed to be many with input. In this admin, there is only one. It is good to be the king.
