Great speech by Senator Collins.
She put the facts together nicely.
Kavanaugh should make a good justice.

There is one part of her speech I didn’t agree with. I believe Feinstein was one of many that started the circus show.

I doubt that. Particularly if she had laid out her reasons with such clarity as she did for voting yes. Principle over politics. Democrats could learn something here.

Collins believes that Kavanaugh will be more Anthony Kennedy than was Anthony Kennedy.

Time will tell.

Kavanaugh will not be a Scalia, imo, probably between a Roberts and a Gorsuch.
 
She did a great job. This was more than an explanation and defense of a person. It was more of an explanation and defense of the preservation of our Republic and our system of law. Bravo Susan!

Senator Collins just ended her career as a senator?!!

Whoever eventually challenges the Maine Republican senator will hit the ground running.

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) announced Friday that she will support Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, all but certainly sealing his confirmation. But the decision could hurt her re-election campaign.

A group of progressive activist groups, hoping to push Collins to vote against Kavanaugh, launched a campaign last month to fund her eventual opponent in 2020.

The fundraising, at least, has been a smash success.

The senator’s yet-undetermined Democratic foe will hit the ground running with a war chest of more than $2 million if Collins votes to confirm Kavanaugh, as she said she would in a nearly hourlong statement on Friday.
