dec 11 2018 Google CEO Sundar Pichai testified on Tuesday that “ad accounts linked to Russia” spent “about $4,700 in advertising” to politically influence Americans during the 2016 presidential election season, offering his remarks during an exchange with Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) in House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday in Washington, DC.

NADLER: According to meda reports, Google found evidence that Russian agents spent thousands of dollars to purchase ads on its advertising platforms that span multiple Google products as part of the Russian agents’ campaign to interference in the election, two years ago. Additionally, Juniper Downs, head of global policy for YouTube, testified in July that YouTube had identified and shut down multiple channels containing thousands of videos associated with the Russian misinformation campaign. Does Google now know the full extent to which its online platforms wre eploited by Russian actors in the election, two years ago?

PICHAI: We undertook a very thorough investigation, and in 2016 we now know there were teo main ad accounts linked to Russia, which advertised on Google for about $4,700 in advertising. We also found other limited —

PICHAI: That’s right, which was — no amount is okay, here, but we founded limited activity, improper activity. We learned from that and we dramatically increased the protections we have around our election offerings leading up to the current elections, we again found limited activity both from the Internet Research Agency in Russia as well as accounts linked to Iran.

CNN is a news channel that only has so much propaganda, and punditry. Brietbart is pretty much nothing other then propaganda, and punditry. I don't partake much of either, without having cable anymore. Your Button pushing propaganda news is amusing though. It gives us an image of the type of people that fall into the fear mongering, fact distorting news. I'm not triggered enough to fall into it. I quit Daily KO's, after dealing with those tactics. Until you understand reporting styles, and what each of there intentions are, you should quit.

It is true. The Google CEO Mr Pichai testified that they identified 2 accounts purchased by Russians to influence the 2016 election, totaling $4700.

That's all they know about now, all that has been verified. He did not say if there could be more.

He also stated that no amount is acceptable.

Also, he did not answer Mr Nadler's question:

"Does Google now know the full extent to which it's platforms were exploited by Russian actors in the election two years ago?"

When asked that, Mr Pichai responded that a thorough investigation was conducted and they identified 2 accts linked to Russians totaling $4700.

He never really said if they know the full extent to which it's platforms were exploited by Russian actors in the election two years ago, or not.
 
Google admits that it *knows* about that measly amount. There's a difference. Also a lot of the Russian operation was based in astroturfing, creating viral lies about people who love America (Democrats) while praising those who mean to do America harm (Republicans). Not direct spending on ads. They would create fake groups, massively upvote and spread the news with bots, and idiot boomers would lap up the propaganda. It was so powerful precisely because it appeared to be some genuine grassroots movement. Direct spending on ads would not be nearly so effective.

Pichai was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India In a Tamil family.[12][13] His mother Lakshmi was a stenographer and his father, Regunatha Pichai was an electrical engineer at GEC, the British conglomerate. His father also had a manufacturing plant that produced electrical components. Pichai grew up in a two-room apartment in Ashok Nagar, Chennai.

Pichai completed schooling in Jawahar Vidyalaya, a Central Board of Secondary Education school in Ashok Nagar, Chennai and completed the Class XII from Vana Vani school in the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

He earned his degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur in metallurgical engineering. He is currently a distinguished alumnus.

Listen Text. I'm a humble Christian, and everyone should be treated equal. A helping hand to those society pushed down in the past, isn't racism. You misunderstand the effects of affirmative action anyway. It's so you can't be denied a position, because of race.
