Happy Impeachment Day, America! Trump's Nightmare Becomes Reality.

Defendant: Your Honor the traffic ticket clearly states "Driving Violation".

Judge: That's why I must give you a maximum fine.

Defendant: But your Honor why the maximum?

Judge: Because the traffic ticket clearly states "Driving Violation".

Defendant: Okay. But what exactly is meant by a "Driving Violation".

Judge: That's why I must give you a maximum fine. Case closed.

Happy Impeachment Day, America! Trump's Nightmare Becomes Reality.

Hi Politalker,

Are you saying Trump's worst nightmare is ensuring his own reelection? I ask because, I'd find that believable. No normal person could withstand the vitriol and hatred Trump has dealt with since he won the Republican nomination for president.

The Entitlement pathos.

When the chant
"if I think it is okay, then it's okay"
became accepted as a bonefide credo
that is when the definition of
what "is" is,
entered the lexicon.

Similarly,
"the emperor has no clothes"
is declared
only by the modest.

Sorry to say this but IMO it's gotta be about the "ya gotta follow the money" rule of thumb.

There are wheeler dealers on both sides + free agents ---but still it's about following the money.

Yes...the Congress should absolutely do that for the American people to see. It has affected both sides of the aisle. The GOP has taken dark money from Russian oligarchs, corporate America including big pharma, the oil industry, the health insurance industry Wall Street, etc. and although not Russkie mafia money, the establishment left has taken corporate money as well. No representative will truly represent the people when this is the norm. The founders never planned an anomaly called "the donor class." How absolutely absurd and undemocratic!

Hello Sirthinksalot,

Hi Politalker,

Are you saying Trump's worst nightmare is ensuring his own reelection? I ask because, I'd find that believable.

Well it's a good thing you find it unbelievable because I didn't say it.

No normal person could withstand the vitriol and hatred Trump has dealt with since he won the Republican nomination for president.

President Trump* has only gotten what he dished out. Can't he take it? He starts fights. He runs around insulting good people and expects he won't be called out for it? That's not 'attacking Trump*. That's defending the good name of good people. Good people as in people who don't have thousands of court cases, mostly for profit, tax evasion and for ripping people off.

* The impeached.

Hello Cinnabar,

I wonder if the Russians will try to funnel millions to Trump through the NRA again...

Maybe that gig is up.

Maybe they will use a dark money route.

I really enjoyed that Impeachment.
What impeachment? The articles haven't been delivered to the Senate yet.
That was awesome.
So you have no intention of upholding the Constitution, eh?
Democrats were on their best behavior, cool, calm, collected. Focused on the task at hand, dealing with the facts. Getting to the bottom of the story. Following the Constitution and the law all the way.
By making random accusations, claiming testimony from unnamed individuals, making shit up and using it as 'evidence', and holding secret committees that all this 'evidence' comes out of, then voting on articles of impeachment that DON'T EVEN LIST A SINGLE CRIME????
Republicans were a sight to see. All the feigned indignation.
No, it's real all right.
Oh, they were so mad, hurt, acting as if something horrible had been done to a completely innocent person,
It was.
just out of the blue for no reason.
No, because he won an election.
Like a grizzly bear was attacking a baby and they had to save it. Really great acting job. Special acknowledgement goes to Jordan, Gaetz and Collins. Wow. What an act. They must be really effective lawyers. They can sure get on their high horse and make up a lot of nothing and really sell it like they think they are saving the world. And all of it made up. Republicans telling you what Democrats think. Hello. Alarm bells there.
No, the Democrats have told you what they think.
High marks go to pretending the reason the Democrats are 'so mean' to do 'this terrible thing' is that they 'simply hate the Republicans'
They do.
for creating such success with the economy by running the nation on credit and not collecting enough taxes to pay for the government.
Both Republicans and Democrats are responsible for that. Strawman fallacy. Nothing to do with Trump or the so-called 'impeachment'.
It's funny how time and time again as they were trying to explain that Trump is innocent,
He is.
they came back to mentioning the economy.
It's doing well right now.
That was like a dead give-away for the real reason they refuse to acknowledge such overwhelming evidence. The economy.
The economy is doing well right now.
McCarthy even came out and said so at the end. 'If you are pleased with the economy you should vote nay on both articles.'
The economy is doing well right now.
Republicans are willing to accept Trump as he is, with all his baggage, as long as we get low taxes and a fake economy running on borrowed time. How long do they suppose it is possible to run such high deficits? Are they in it for the long run, or the here and now, grab and run?

What pathetic nonsense. What foolishness. What irresponsibility. They should be ashamed of themselves. How cheap. How shallow. Terrible budget management. Insufficient revenue. Irresponsible tax cut. What sell-outs to big money they are. And sell-outs for this terrible President. Willing to violate their oaths of office for him. Pathetic. I am ashamed to see it. They disgrace our government.
Tax cuts are not an expense.
Yup. The impeachment was quite a show.
And nothing but. Where's the beef? This is the biggest nothing burger the Democrats have ever created.
And the message came through loud and clear for me what each side is up to.
False dichotomy fallacy.

They are mad as hell that Nancy is playing the same game of hardball Trump* tries to play.

Nancy doesn't even seem to be playing at all. She has yet to deliver the articles of impeachment to the Senate. Until she does, there is no impeachment.

If the House does not communicate its impeachment to the Senate, it hasn’t actually impeached the president. If the articles are not transmitted, Trump could legitimately say that he wasn’t truly impeached at all.

That’s because “impeachment” under the Constitution means the House sending its approved articles of to the Senate, with House managers standing up in the Senate and saying the president is impeached.

As for the headlines we saw after the House vote saying, “TRUMP IMPEACHED,” those are a media shorthand, not a technically correct legal statement. So far, the House has voted to impeach (future tense) Trump. He isn’t impeached (past tense) until the articles go to the Senate and the House members deliver the message.
