This thread has gone silly. The fact is, neither Obama nor Trump had/has anything to do with this.
This was/is a business decision. The decision to build a plant overseas was to service the Asian market, to avoid foreign tariffs. After a little research, HD won't be importing those products back to America.
Now, HD reports a 4 year decline in sales so every stockholder has lost money over the last 4 years. Anyone with any common sense knows no one will buy stock in a company who is losing money, in other words, those stockholders couldn't sell their stock even if they wanted to. Tax cut or not, HD, by closing that plant, frees up capitol to buy back stock in hopes of a reversal in declining sales here in America (it happened after those 13 investors bought the company from AMF). And, they're moving production from that closed plant to York PA. which will add jobs to that plant (doubtfully the number lost in the closed plant). There is no question these decisions were made before Trump's tax cut!
Do any of you liberals have a 401K? Do you watch what investments you have and whether they are making you money or not? I do, and when one investment starts losing money, I transfer to one I hope will make me the most money, and over the last 2-3 years, I've been pretty lucky to make a respectable amount more than if I left it alone and not paid any attention to it. That, and with my firearm investments (an example is my M-1, I paid $185 for one, it's worth over $1200 now) and a few antiques I'll be selling over the next few years, I will be retiring 4 years early. Business decisions!

If you've followed politics prior to last year you would know it's been a central theme of the Republican Party since Reagan but for free market folks longer than that.
