Truth. Academic achievement is positively correlated with higher intelligence, and the higher the academic achievement the more liberal one is. It's axiomatic. In general this is true, but your conclusion is false because you forget to add in another human trait that tends to directly correlate with education: arrogance. Arrogance causes smart people to think that they know better than others how individuals should run their lives. Thus, highly educated people tend to support big government.

The reality is, however, that individuals deserve the freedom to make their own life decisions, right or wrong. Thus, folks who support big government are curtailing individual freedom.
