The returns stated that Trump made $150 million in 2005 and that he paid $38 million in taxes, which equaled about 25 percent of his income — certainly not fitting the liberal narrative that rich Americans don't pay their "fair share" or that Trump is a tax evader.

There is no "it" to clear up. This is purely a political fabrication by his political opponents. Trump would only have to "clear it up" if it were an issue for his supporters, which it is not. Notice that Trump's supporters are not clammoring for him to divulge personal information to be used against him.
He doesn't appear to be hiding. He appears to be saying "No."
I'm sure he enjoys saying "No" to Democrat as much as his supporters enjoy him saying it ... and that's all that matters.

You're not running for President, though. He is. His finances make him a national security risk, and the lack of transparency is...not good perceptively.
He owes billions to "undisclosed lenders". Who are those lenders? Could they have use of that leverage to extract things from POTUS? Quite literally, yes.

He's not releasing them because he can't...doing so would reveal he's indebted to "undisclosed lenders" who we know aren't US banks because no US bank will lend him money, since he's a failure and has gone bankrupt 6 times.
So who does he owe these billions to? We don't know, and he refuses to say.
