High prices in America’s cities are reviving the suburbs

This very much depends on the city. Cities like Houston or Dallas are sprawling out to the suburbs to because there's lots of vacant land. Cities like Seattle are going up instead of out because the geography constricts thingsToo Much

It's a little longer for me to some of those things and I'm OK with that. I don't have to be around dining venues, populations diverse of not, academia, etc. to have a good time. It puts me closer to things on the tail end of your list and I'm perfectly fine with that.
I hear you. One of my favorite past times is floating down Darby Creek (a local scenic river) in my kayak and not being to overly concerned about catching any fish or not. Never had a bad day doing that. My old man used to say "Boredom is a state of mind." and Pops was spot on right about that.

So you keep your pimp hand strong and the bitch in her place?
Meh you just have to learn how to strike that balance between male dominance and not getting burned alive in your bed while sleeping. So be a manly man. Your woman will appreciate it...but don't push that to far....you gotta sleep sometime and women are far more evil than you could possibly hope to be.

Cawacky seem to think that the city is the only place where the action is. If you're bored, the problem isn't where you are but who and what you are. I don't have to be around lots of people, bright lights, and some event going on to be entertained. If Cawacky does, that's OK and it's not wrong if I and others don't.

Dude...he lives in Frisco...he pays extra for that!

He CHOOSES to live there then complains about the costs of doing so.

My wife and I make decisions together. I've agreed to things that weren't my first choice and so has she but neither one of us have the attitude that in order to have a happy life we have to always give in to the other.

We work together on things. You let your bitch carry your balls around in her purse.

LOL, it's simple economics. I'm not spending $400K to send my daughter to school in SF. Knock yourself out if that's for you.

It has nothing to do with economics. You said so yourself when you admitted you'll move because you wife told you to. You're the one that says she wants to move and you'll do it to keep her happy.

LOL, reading comprehension 101 my man. Look at what I actually wrote, not what you want it to say.

LA actually has the same problem, they've covered pretty much their entire valley at this point and the density keeps going up. They're in the weird position of not having a particularly dense urban core but having some of the most dense suburbs in America.

You have said you don't want to move to the suburb but your wife does. Happy wife, Happy Life. Tells me you're willing to stay where you say the prices are too high but will move to keep her happy.

LA wouldnt allow going up only until a few decades ago, same with Seattle.

First sentence I wrote:

""I can't afford to live in SF and spend $30K/yr to send my daughter to school.""

It was not until your 5th post (post #15 of the thread) that you mentioned money. You had previously mentioned that you would regret, rue I believe was the word you used, moving to the suburbs. You talked about how you liked the action of the city and that the suburbs would be boring. You put a blurb in that 5th post related to money but the emphasis of that post, as shown with the words "ultimately" and "happy wife, happy life", was doing what you wife wanted despite not wanting to do it. In other words, what SHE wanted was the deciding factor, not money.
