Agreed on the excesses of capitalism, but colleges do what all good businesses do: give the customer what they want. If most are crowding into the Business Department, the Business section of the school will grow. If it's Nursing, then they'll grow Nursing.
The problem isn't the colleges, IMO, but our highly commercialized, "Greed is Good" business culture. Not everyone feels that way. I chose a different path. My brother made 3X what I made, but I loved going to work and he couldn't wait to retire. We each have choices.
