For us liberals in the know, it has become a matter of grinding down the hold-outs.

We will use every new law, regulation and rule we can conceive to seek our goal.

It falls upon the responsible people of the USA to fight this, because the irresponsible and foolish refuse to help.

It's a complete waste of time trying to rationalize the behavior of irrational people.

They are anti-science. They take folk remedies off social media. They are too chicken to risk their own lives but support the Insurrection.

IMO these people are anything but rational.

It is ironic they risk their lives on garbage COVID remedies but won't risk their lives by taking up arms against government like the trash they talk.

Well, at least a lot of them are getting taken out of the picture as a result of 1-6.

They were afraid of COVID lock-downs, well, they are about to find out what a real lock-down behind real bars is all about.

So I have a number of politically progressive friends that were posting pictures on social media while attending the Giants-Dodgers series. Why do you think they would do that? Are they just closet right-wingers? Or are they just selfish YOLO’s and didn’t want to miss out?

Why did arguably the most progressive City in the U.S. sell out all three playoff games? Why did our City even allow fans into the stadium?

Most are lower middle-class, low education and middle-aged. They can't start over without a lot of suffering so they won't risk their careers on idiotic politics. OTOH, their folk remedies, to an irrational mind, seem "safe".

Were they posting about their horse pill dosages? Supporting overthrowing the US Constitution? Attacking and murdering police? Blowing up a Federal building? Justifying murdering Americans as "collateral damage?

If not, then that's not what is being discussed regarding Trumpian nutjobs, folk remedies for a global pandemic and science in general.

The obvious answer is that they are vaccinated.

Anyone attending attending an event like that who is not vaccinated is an ignorant fool and most likely a Trumper. regardless of the city.

It was very irresponsible. I did hear that some events required proof of vaccination or proof of a recent negative COVID test.

That makes it better. Best would be proof of vaccination required, plus reduced capacity socially distant seating.

An outdoor event can be safer than indoors if it is windy and the air gets refreshed.

But if it is indoor without really aggressive ventilation, or outdoor with no wind at all, there is a potential for the air to be shared.

That is what must be avoided. We don't want people sharing the same air.

The Democratic Party gets this. The Trump party is irresponsible.

There are exceptions within each party.
 
I personally find it amazing that two or three of the players don't get killed in each game.

Fascination with football is a perfect example of how homo sapiens can't possibly be the pinnacle of evolution.
Something smarter HAS to come along eventually.

Something that sticks to safe, civilized sports like boxing.

Although they belong in Brooklyn, not California, the Dodgers appear to be a fairly intelligent organization if they require vaccination for stadium access.

It would be better if they only sold about a 1/4 of the seats and prevented close lines at concessions and rest rooms.
