I also don’t understand why our nation would honor traitors.

The statues of the Founders I find a little more complicated, they were slave owners, but they were also the authors of our system which is a good thing, now, not as they fashioned it, but as women and Blacks fight for the equality we deserve and the Founders didn’t give us.

The soldiers were, not the officers. The statues are of the officers who were traitors.

'Our nation' didn't honor the traitors. Those monuments were put there to remind black people that they aren't equal to white people.
