I am not establishing "superiority". I am exposing his hypocrisy and selective criticism.

If i am calling out a politician as 'unelectable' and saying it is because 'he cheated on his wife' and meanwhile i am supporting a politician to get elected who 'cheated on his wife' it is not only appropriate but the proper tactic to point that out.

Is it a whataboutism, yes. But it is a proper use of one. You do not let him use his hypocrisy to shine a bad light on your guy while trying to shield his guy by pushing, as you are doing, that a whataboutism is not appropriate and thus do not shine a light on his guy.
