The Russians made it quite clear from the outset that any interference with Tartus was a red line. Tartus is Russia's warm-water port.
Russian support for Syria against US/Izraeli hegemony has prevented Izrael's desired American war on Iran. Izrael could never risk open conflict with Iran with anti-Zionist Syria next door.
Thus Russia's presence in the Middle East is essential for world peace.

According to Ezekiel 38 there will be an invasion of Israel by Iran, Somalia, Armenia, Germany, headed by Russia. Interestingly, no Arab nations are mentioned in the invasion.
While most theologians abandon the literal interpretation when they get to prophetic passages, they attempt to place this invasion with Armageddon or at the end of the Millennial Kingdom.
However, it takes place before the coming 7 years Tribulation. It has to because it says that the Jews will be burying the dead and burning their weapons for 7 years. Thus it must happen before the trib since the Jews have to flee the land at the midpoint when the Antichrist turns on them.

In the context of the thread title- it's fact that Iran was attacked by the West in 1953 for the simple reason that the Iranians wanted to nationalize their oil fields. The West is the aggressor- and armed resistance is NOT terrorism to anybody other than Western aggressors.
The reasoning shifts as Iran's oil becomes less important and the current reasoning for threatening Iran comes from the Izraeli fascists- who dictate American policy via AIPAC and Washington Neo-Zionists, such as Trump. There will never be a ' Greater Izrael ' because Iran will never permit further Izraeli expansion. Iran will continue to support both Syria and Lebanon in order to keep the pariah Izraelis in their box. Attacking Iran is not an option either- as Iran is now backed by both Russia and China.
Taking the long view, Izrael is fucked- and the sooner that the US unshackles itself the better for everybody. Supporting Izrael is backing a loser. The watching world knows that Izrael is the terrorist state- not Iran. Anybody thinking differently has been conditioned into believing that Izraelis are victims. They're not.

I used ' if ' as a conditional in order to elicit a response . The fact that you've dodged making a response implies that you know full well that ' holy texts ' have been rewritten over time.
There is proof of this, of course but people are quite capable of believing the logic of it without any.
As for my own familiarity with ' the holy writ '- nearly all Western-educated children are forced to consult it, by adult bigots, at some point in their education. Do you imagine being such an educator yourself ?
