Walt what we should do and what we can realistically do is 2 different things .It can take decades to get approval for a nuke plant . And we have been closing some.

NG is great but its a fossil fuel also and like coal is not used to fuel cars. Plus we have a president whos a moron shutting down Pipe lines in American and fracking on federal land and is begging the OPEC nations and Russia nations to cover up hes fuck ups and on top of that he lifted
sanctions on Russia and is talking about closing other pipe lines.

Where the fuel for these plants going to come from now that we have to in port oil again thanks to Biden ? O thats right Biden can unite America cure covid and cancer .

The problem with that is that as coal becomes scarce as a raw resource, its cost will become prohibitive and it will end production entirely. If there aren't alternatives in place, that will impact other industries that use coal for other than energy.

People who need it will see it coming and take action. States get waivers, etc. Nice goal but 9 years isn't very long. I doubt it's doable in less than 20. Maybe plans will be in place by 2030.
