Is opposing or decrying pride month necessarily proof of "hate" for LGBTQ+?

There's no inherent problem with religion based on revelation.
If it was revelation from an actual all-knowing, all-powerful being that relayed quality information, no, there would be nothing wrong with that.

As it stands now, I could re-write the Bible and make it infinitely more useful today than the current version is.

The only thing is... you won't like what my view of 'helping them' entails because it's not "affirming their behavior".
The only thing is.... you think there's something that need to, or can, be helped. You believe that because of a book written by a bunch of superstitious, uneducated men.

That's what such religions believe, and there's nothing inherently wrong with those religions believing that. I believe in one such religion (Christianity). There is nothing inherently wrong with Christianity.

Once you get the Bible re-written, I'd like you to provide me with a copy of it. I wanna see just how 'infinitely more useful' you can make it, and I wanna see if I should be putting my faith in you instead of the Christian God.

Here's a couple of easy changes:
  • Directly ban slavery
  • Directly ban child abuse
  • Don't endorse killing of homosexuals
  • Don't endorse killing of your kids for back talk
  • Don't endorse human/animal sacrifice
Which of those do you disagree with?

Of course I do. That's why I used those words.

"Uneducated"? Are you nuts?!

Moses was raised in the Egyptian royal court. He was plenty educated.
Paul was educated.
Luke was a physician (that requires education).
Matthew was a tax collector (that requires education).
Solomon and David were kings.
Isaiah and Daniel were royal court scholars who were very literate.

Even the "fisherman" were educated (in a trade), even if they may not have been "educated" in an "academic" sense.

Presentism Fallacy.

The Bible doesn't condone child abuse.

I disagree with using modern day views/norms to critique past events and societies.

There are a lot of things to decry about pride month.
1) It doesn't deserve a month. Even veterans don't get a month.
2) The depravity of pride parades is like an ad for "why decent people hate LGBTQ"
3) A wise man once said "It doesn't deserve a month." Maybe he even said it twice. Anyways, a day would suffice.
4) Pride propaganda is being injected into places where it clearly doesn't belong. I don't want my sports "with a side of identity politics". That shit just makes me resent the LGBTQ, and I don't wanna feel that way about them.
5) There are a lot of problems with identity politics in general. It's divisive and discriminatory, it even has strong fear and hate mongering incorporated into it, and pride month just adds to the list of annoyances.

It depends why you oppose it. I'd bet there are a LOT of religious fundamentalists who legitimately hate LGBTQ people.
And I bet that there are a lot of LGBTQ people hate and fear mongering against the Catholic church. I only say that because it's true.

Agree. Hinduism doesn't have any obvious issues. Religion based on revelation is the problem.
Hinduism isn't bad internationally, but it's not great either. How woud you like to be born into a transgenerational caste system where even your great great grandchildren are destined to be peasant-class?
Religion based on revelation is the problem
Buddy, thats a ridiculously broad statement.
1) FYI Christianity isn't a problem you ignorant little ingrate. The reason why you have all the freedoms and peace that you enjoy in NA is because of its Christian principles, which are ingrained in the constitutions and Bills of Rights.
2) Equating islam with Christianity is like equating hand-jobs with mass-murder, genius. FYI Christians don't kill apostates, marry children, beat up and imprison women for not wearing the proper religious attire, or behead people for not converting. They didn't do that 100 years ago and they sure as hell don't do it in 2026.
