Is the GOP a dead party?

Sorry, I can't take you seriously if you thought a lecherous, $&@#% grabbing Reality TV star should be trusted with the office of the Presidency.

Not even sure what you are saying. There is far more on the line here than anyone's resentments against Hillary Clinton, or a single seat on the Supreme Court. The office of the Presidency, needs, requires, and demands having someone of competence, gravitas, intelligence, and capability. Everything your orange $&@#% grabbing Reality TV star is not.

If you voted for George Bush - undeniably one of the worst five presidents this country has ever had - and followed that vote up with a vote for a deranged Reality TV star, in my opinion your judgement on who should be a President is seriously impaired. Your resume contains votes for some of the absolute worst Presidents this country has ever seen.

I'm trying to tell you why democrats can't win middle America. And I don't expect you to agree with me. I expect you to do exactly what you did...tell me why I (we're) am so dumb and you're so smart...in not so many words. You're a liberal and I'm a conservative. It's what your side (liberals) do.

Cypress' response is exhibit A why democrats get crushed in the middle of the country. Dismissal, disrespect and disdain. 'You're not worthy of being talked to' attitude

S.S. is an unsustainable system at its current level and the numbers bear that out. The idea that we can just raise taxes to cover it, print money via the Fed and still achieve necessary economic growth is a false one.

Sure, I understand your programming, which is why I said if it isn't there .. look in the mirror.

There are many ways that SS can be sustained, but it's going to take a legislature that wants to sustain it. Your side can't even figure out healthcare.

80 plus years of socialism that has served Americans well .. and will continue to do so with conscious politicians steering it. Your side doesn't have those. :0)

He said he last voted for Bush, doesn't appear to think much of democrats .. yes, his side.

.. and hell no. Trump is a republican .. the ONLY people stupid enough to make that asshole president.

NOBODY would elect that stench BUT republicans.

Why don't you ask the man. He votes for a majority democrats.

I repeat my post above. You think we can continually raise taxes and leave interest rates at zero and that's what's going to sustain it. The beauty of being a socialist is one can look so "compassionate" by pretending economic realities don't exist

You two are hilarious. :0)

Two conservatives talking about how disrespectful liberals are. :0) Fucking hilarious.

Perhaps you both were on vacation to the moon when Obama was in office while your side went bonkers and all-out lunatic with hate and disrespect.

Hilarious

The beauty of being a republican is that ignorance is common place. Doesn't even get noticed.

I can quite easily post you links that present many options for making SS sustainable .. none of which do I believe you have any interest in. It's not rocket science .. and it wouldn't be sustainable with the math of economic realities.

Your programming suits you well brother.

You too are hilarious. :0)

Ummm, he's a democrat for starters. And sorry if you choose not to understand why people vote like they do. It's interesting you can understand why minorities generally don't vote republican yet are clueless why working class folks don't vote democratic on the national level.

Read this .. "Two conservatives"

Pretty sure I understand more about voting patterns than you do.

I haven't challenged why you or anyone else votes as they do. That's entirely up to you.

But to suggest that democrats are more disrespectful than republicans is just stupid.

Lots of working class people vote for democrats .. you're talking about the white working class .. that just elected the worst president in our history.

Economics had little to do with that .. 'white' had everything to do with that.

LR is Native American. So why would a teacher who is Native American who generally votes for democrats statewide and locally vote for Trump if you know so well how people vote?

And again dude I NEVER said nor suggested democrats are more disrespectful than republicans. Don't tell me you know better than I do why people vote like they do when you don't understand Cypress' post and LR's response to it

Show me your S.S. stuff BAC. I really hope it contains means testing

Sure .. start from the source.

The Future Financial Status of the Social Security Program

As a result of changes to Social Security enacted in 1983, benefits are now expected to be payable in full on a timely basis until 2037, when the trust fund reserves are projected to become exhausted.1 At the point where the reserves are used up, continuing taxes are expected to be enough to pay 76*percent of scheduled benefits. Thus, the Congress will need to make changes to the scheduled benefits and revenue sources for the program in the future. The Social Security Board of Trustees project that changes equivalent to an immediate reduction in benefits of about 13*percent, or an immediate increase in the combined payroll tax rate from 12.4*percent to 14.4*percent, or some combination of these changes, would be sufficient to allow full payment of the scheduled benefits for the next 75*years.

Since the inception of the Social Security program in 1935, scheduled benefits have always been paid on a timely basis through a series of modifications in the law that will continue. Social Security provides a basic level of monthly income to workers and their families after the workers have reached old age, become disabled, or died. The program now provides benefits to over 50*million people and is financed with the payroll taxes from over 150*million workers and their employers. Further modifications of the program are a certainty as the Congress continues to evolve and shape this program, reflecting the desires of each new generation.

This article describes the financial status of the Social Security program, including an analysis of the concepts of solvency and sustainability and the relationship of Social Security to the overall federal unified budget. The future is uncertain in many respects, and based on new information, projections of the financial status of the Social Security program vary somewhat over time. What is virtually certain is that the benefits that almost all Americans become entitled to and most depend on will be continued into the future with modifications deemed appropriate by their elected representatives in the Congress.

Several modifications and adjustments are detailed within .. and this is just one of a plethora of means tested concepts about the sustainability of the program.

Yes, he is. The Republican party isn't the part of conservatives anymore. That's what you mean. The Republican party started out as a liberal party (not 'classic liberal or libertarian') that promoted civil rights, morphed into a neoliberal/neoconservative party, then became libertarians during Obama's presidency, and now they are the party of Trumpism (the ideology of being an asshole).

How profound.

LR is Native American. So why would a teacher who is Native American who generally votes for democrats statewide and locally vote for Trump if you know so well how people vote?

Too much respect for LR to talk about that.

But 'white' had everything to do with Trump's election.

Economic Anxiety Didn’t Make People Vote Trump, Racism Did
New data provide a compelling answer to this vexing question.

Lot's of resentment there, mate.

Voting based on resentment is beyond my ability to debate or understand.
I don't think voting for George Dumya Bush and President Pussy Grabber is either wise or smart. That is my opinion, and I think that is an opinion based on facts and evidence. They are both going down in history as among the worst five presidents this nation has ever had. If you are comfortable with those votes, that's up to you.

On a daily basis, right on this board, self-identified conservatives, republicans, and rightwingers engage in blatant racism, sexism, misogyny, and juvenile name calling. Black posters are routinely called "boy" and "n*gger", and female posters are routinely called "c*nt". And it is rare indeed that you, LR, or any other conservative calls them out on it. Very rare, if ever.

And I am the one who is disrespectful?

You're joking, right Cawacko?
