This thread isn't really about Palestine, but that partition was almost 80 years ago now, and it was very peaceful compared to Pakistani partition, which happened less than a year earlier.

When people talk about "the nabka", just remember that the number of Jews killed in the time period was very close to the number of Arabs killed in that time.
It wasn't really a nabka when you compare it to what happened in Pakistan. Pakistan was ethnically cleansed of Sikhs and Hindus, and to this day only 2% of Pakistan is Sikh or Hindu, and the ancestral religion of that land was Hindu going back 1,500 years before Christ. Furthermore, the population of all Palestine in 1940 was about 1.5M. That territory includes all of what we call Gaza, Israel, and the West Bank today.
Gaza alone had 2.2M in 2023. FYI that was not a genocide. Gazans had all of Gaza to themselves for 20 years before they attacked Israel on Oct 7th.
Now the Israelis are killing off Hamas, and they are doing an extremely good job of avoiding civilian casualties while doing so, despite all of Hamas's efforts to keep children in harm's way.
