Day 1 of the public House impeachment hearings on President Trump is in the books, and nothing that happened will move public opinion in a meaningful way. The folks who have wanted to impeach Trump since he won the presidency still do, and the folks who don’t still don’t.

In other words, it’s a lost day for Democrats.

The burden of proof is on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam B. Schiff (D-Burbank) to do more than secure impeachment, which is all but certain. Their job is to conduct these hearings in a way that moves public opinion to the point that the Senate will convict the president. That means giving Republican senators something that changes their impression of Trump’s conduct of Ukraine foreign policy. What’s alleged may make many members of the GOP uncomfortable, but it doesn’t come remotely close to requiring that the president be removed from office.

The opening-day witnesses — diplomatic officials Bill Taylor and George Kent — testified professionally and with honor, but they failed to deliver a made-for-TV gotcha. Rather, they simply reiterated that they had no firsthand knowledge of the president’s interactions and had not had conversations with the president directly.“

LMAO. Aid was released only after the whistle blower came out, and then it was done in a hurry. Portman called POTUS and told him that the clock was running out on that aid money and it needed to be allocated quickly.

Say nothing of the internal pressure from a variety of people in the W.H, Bolton's departure, and other issues that trump won't discuss.

The quid pro quo between the Biden's and Burisma needs to be investigated.

Earl, where did you get this tripe???? Breitbart or the likes of???

That is an opinion, and it's only an undisputed fact to Trump.

No, it is a fact.

Out of all the people in the world, why did Burisma choose to pay the son of the sitting Vice President of the United States of America to sit on their board of directors? If you can't answer, that's ok. I understand. :palm:

But when was someone in the WH going to get around to telling the Ukrainians they were being ‘pressured’ lol?

Where’s the missing linkage?

But that’s been ‘settled’ lol.

What Democrats need to be wary of is they will be relying on Chief Justice Roberts to play along with their shenanigans in a Senate trial. There’s no coherent reason to take Hunter Biden off the table since the whole thing pivots around the question of whether it was reasonable/unreasonable for Trump to ask Zelensky for an investigation of the Biden’s.

It won’t matter—to an honest jurist, if Trump got warm political fuzzies over the prospect of a Biden investigation. What matters is if they were involved in corrupt activities with Burisma.

So, in all probability Hunter will have to appear and if Democrats are going to *be honest with themselves* they will recognize they aren’t sure where it will go from there.

Same ditto for the WB: If Roberts adheres to the law, as it is written, the law offers no protection for the WB anonymity in a Senate trial. The law only guarantees no retribution from the IG.

Democrats: do yourselves a favor and find the brake pedal on this thing.

Yep, and why do the Democrats want to block an investigation.

I just want to know how they will feel when future Presidents use their power for self interests, especially when it’s a Democrat. They are allowing this new precedent by turning a blind eye to Trump’s corruption.

Fuck! They freaked when Obama wore a tan suit!

Excellent!

Which is why Pelosi will never hold an impeachment vote about the phone call.

JORDAN WAS A TOTAL FLOP. His delivery was WORSE.

What's with this guy and his DISDAIN for JACKETS? Does the old wrestler think his pecs show through or something? More white trash.

Democrats engaging in racist class warfare over the lack of a jacket. Unbelievable. :palm:

I think Jordan was one of the reasons this shit show started out in the intel committee. I would have loved to see shifty's face when they switched him to intel. Touche', pencil neck!
