I'm not a "Trumptard," and I don't eat Post Toasties.
It sure is. Everything was Trump's fault, now it's Biden's turn (and he'll screw up everything, his handlers will see to that).
The truth is Donald Trump didn't do everything wrong and neither did Biden. These two men have a rare consensus that it was time to end the 20 year war, and they did as they both promised to do. It was a campaign promise both made during their campaigns to do it. And both of them will be credited for bringing our Afghan troops home.
Had Trump won, he would be the one having to take the heat for the bungles that couldn't have been avoided anyway, just as Biden is now having to take the heat for them.
Perhaps future politicians will learn how to end an unfavorable war and avoid these last minute bungles next time.
If I were going to blame Biden for anything, it would be that he didn't send his State Department over there and discuss the changes Biden made that were different than Trump's original plan at a table with the Taliban.
I know the United States traditionally has never had talks with Terrorists before Trump opened up that can of worms. But, I do believe that Biden should have done it and may end up having to yet, if we can't get everybody out by the deadline. There may have to be State Department and Taliban meetings to get er' done!
Trump's releasing those prisoners was already a kind of blessing in disguise, as the Taliban's new leader, recently released from prison seems to have the right strategy of cooperating with the United States to get all of these people out of the country safe without interfering.
Our field commanders and captains have had to go out to the Taliban check points and tell the Taliban who we want out and through their checkpoints. And our military has been working with the Taliban to clear the area around the airport and the Taliban checkpoint areas to help keep them clear and maintain some kind of Police enforcement and crowd control in those areas. So our military and the Taliban are working together on projects like that right now as hard as that is to actually believe.
