Catholics are a lot different than Protestants.

My Polish Catholic American father & Irish Catholic American mother are both very anti-Porn.

CFR is based on deaths/cases. One need only count known deaths and known infections to get CFR. No one is claiming CFR is the true number of deaths or infections. It is what we know at the current time. It is always subject to change as long as infected people are identified and infected people die.
You go with the information you have. You don't say, "I don't like the data so I will just make up data I do like." All estimates have levels of uncertainty attached to them. 2 million deaths was on the high end of the early estimates.

Just a tad lol.

I don’t recall anyone saying the 2 million death estimate was ‘provisional’ or whatever. If it was based on hospitalized COVID cases they had to the know the CFR was off and likely way high on the high end. It would be no different than claiming chronic gallbladder disease has a CFR of 5% just based on patients who show up in the ER with acute symptoms.

There are only two explanations and one is incompetence.

As politically-motivated pandemic panic took off across the U.S. in mid-March, health-care providers began to delay hip surgeries, routine colonoscopies and other procedures that weren’t urgent, in an effort to prevent infection and conserve space and equipment for a potential surge of patients with Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. Some states urged hospitals to do so voluntarily. Elsewhere, governors and health departments mandated a stop.

The result was a patchwork of policies that threatened fines for violators in some states and left hospitals and doctors to make their own calls in others.

The financial shock has been severe, marked by the sector’s largest one-month job loss in 30 years of published Labor Department data.

Now, health care is joining other sectors of the U.S. economy making an urgent push to resume business. The Trump administration, some states and some hospitals are moving to restart surgeries postponed by the pandemic hysteria.

Hospitals, clinics and surgery centers are moving to resume procedures that were halted when the coronavirus pandemic reached the U.S., a shift that could help stanch the sector’s financial losses.

Surgery centers affiliated with Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles say they have enough coronavirus testing capacity for ramp up in procedures not affiliated with the virus.

Tenet Healthcare Corp. is preparing to restart surgeries in Texas. Under an executive order from the Texas governor, hospitals can resume all elective procedures Wednesday.

In states like Missouri, hospitals can move ahead as they see fit. The state didn’t order a halt to medical care.

HCA, a national hospital chain, said on an investor call Tuesday it expects to reopen across its 43 markets.

There was no good reason to cancel electives in 90% of the country.

CFR - Case fatality rate. It is based on total persons diagnosed with the virus. Are you this obtuse in real life? Or is it your incompetence we are discussing here?
