JPP Trump State of the Union livestream thread - starts 9 PM EST

Why would libs panic about a speech?

The dynamic for the midterms is unchanged. Libs are excited about the midterms.

Any momentum that libs may have had- last night's SOTU sucked all the wind out of it.

73% of independents, 97% conservatives... but even democrats gave him 43%.

Heritage Foundation and Dennis Prager are saying they were wrong about Trump- saying his policies are more conservative than Reagan.

I think democrats need to sign his immigration bill and play nice, or lose their shirts.

The Dem congress critters didn't support a single thing in the President's speech; not even access to experimental medial treatments for terminally ill patients :palm:

The speech will basically be forgotten by Monday. It didn't change anything in terms of electoral politics.

Democrats won't lose their shirts, regardless. The party out of power generally does well in the midterms. Trump's approval is still at historic lows. And basically every election since Trump won has seen the Democrats significantly outperform historical #'s in their area.

Dems will certainly pick up seats in the House no matter what happens. The GOP is set up very favorably in the Senate, but I'd still guess that will be a status quo result, which in this kind of year represents a real lost opportunity for Republicans.

The electoral college gave the presidency to Trump. What hasn’t changed is a reason to not maintain the momentum that is giving them jobs.

It won’t be forgotten by Republicans, or Independents . There is no way dems take the House midterm. The Senate is likely to remain the same.

Now Schiff is being investigated for kickbacks- the stench of corruption on dems, is still unfolding.

It is clear you are desperate but your problem is you arent smart enough to pull it off. Job creation is poorer under trump as is economic growth and the DOW performance. Your problem is this stuff is available on the internet. and by the way Schiff is investigating, not being investigated. Just another one of putins bots that needs reprogramming.

Trump has been under investigation from the start. Most voters probably don't even know who Schiff is.

The Dems will pick up seats in the House - most likely significant gains. I think it's a mid to longshot that they take control of the House, but it's definitely a possibility.

Independents may have liked the speech yesterday, but most don't like one-party control for too long.

first I'll address your fantasy, Trump is not being investigated, Russian meddling in the election is. Your side is just hoping Trump may be caught in the crossfire.
And the chairman of the House intelligence committee just said TODAY, that to date he has seen nothing indicating Trump colluding with Russians, PERIOD, NOTHING.

The Dems may pick up seats in the house, but in case you missed it, Trump doesn't care, he is battling Republicans as much as he is battling Democrats, That is why he is popular. His policies one and all are for the American people, not Dems or Repubs. Some of us get that, and so should you, it's one thing being late to the show but you don't even have a ticket yet.

And the one party control thing you may be right about, in a normal cycle. But the Dems better latch onto some sort of message, any sort of message, It's February :321:

You're correct about the investigation, and I should have qualified that. Still, for all of his talk about a "cloud of investigation" hanging over the WH if Hillary won, the whole scenario is somewhat ironic.

It would be shockingly bad for Dems if they didn't pick up seats in the midterm; I don't care what Trump himself cares about in that regard. I'm sure he'd rather see the GOP gain seats, or at least maintain the status quo, much as he is at odds w/ them at times. But I think something significant would have to happen to change the dynamic for Dems not to make decent to large gains in the House.

As for message, we really don't have a sense of that from any party until campaigns begin in earnest. There is plenty for Dems to work with.

Any president can only do so much in their first year. Why not wait until year three or later before having a SOTU speech if it's all about who gets credit?

Look cawacko, trump taking credit for the drop in black unemployment is like the rooster taking credit for the sunrise.

It's not about credit. At the end of the day it's that Democrats can't even stand something positive being announced about the black community by a Republican. Hence this angst.

You didn’t have a problem with Obama taking credit for the increase in domestic oil drilling that started under President Bush did you you dumb hypocritical twat?

Spare me your faux outrage

I notice that you and the rest of the stupid trumpsters won't touch any fact-checking with a ten foot pole, and I understand why. You're all intellectually dishonest and willfully ignorant.
