Karmelo Anthony was serving an active suspension from his school

A reasonable person would have left the tent. What reasonable person would stand their ground for no valid reason when outnumbered and those opposing them are getting increasingly hostile?
I agree, if a gang of teens attacks you, the reasonable thing to do is not stand your ground. Texas law makers see things differently.

Stand your ground applies to situations where you have a reasonable reason to remain where you are.
No, no, no, no, no... There is no place in the law for reasonable. The obligation to retreat is reasonable, but that is not the law in Texas.

he was clearly somewhere he shouldn't have been
And yet not a single adult in authority agreed? Why was that?

For what reason was Anthony in that tent to begin with? Don't say it's his "right" to be there or some nonsense. Give us some rational reason for his presence in the tent.
He wanted to avoid the rain. He sat there quietly not getting wet.

What sort of school has random kids enforcing rules?

No "gang of teens" "attacked" Anthony.

Who told you that?

Who are these alleged adults in authority?

He wanted to avoid the rain. He sat there quietly not getting wet.

Is that so?

What sort of school has random kids enforcing rules?

None, that I know of.

Teachers, security, coaches, principles, etc. I know Metcalf believed he owned the school. He did not. He had absolutely no authority.

Enforcing Boundaries: Protecting the tent space so uninvited people from other teams do not take over the area. [1]

There is nothing in Texas law that requires you to stand your ground. That is an imbecilic position. You can if you must, but it isn't as if you have to regardless. Anthony could have left the tent. He had no reason to be there to begin with. He got nothing positive out of staying. He forced the situation rather than tried to defuse it.

Aside from that, it is NOT disputed that after stabbing Metcalf, Anthony fled the scene. He did not, "stand his ground," he ran away.

No, he didn't. He was asked to leave and got confrontational. Anthony, rather than trying to defuse the situation by saying something like "It's raining I'll just stand / sit here," chose to confront Metcalf and the others present with veiled threats. Anthony also deliberately armed himself.

As far as I can tell, only students were present in the tent.

Poor Salty Walty.

Under Texas Rules of Evidence and self-defense law, a person cannot claim self-defense if they intentionally provoked the difficulty. The prosecution emphasizes that Anthony brought a 3.5-inch folding knife onto school property, kept his hand hidden inside his backpack on the blade, and dared the students to touch him. They argue he deliberately manufactured the confrontation and used lethal force against an unarmed peer who was merely trying to defend his team's space.

So for the murderers Negro supporters when he's convicted do your rioting and looting cause its the way you deal with everything is by using violence !! That's what this kid was taught and now he's going to have to pay for it !!! So quit playing the victim !! The only victim is the dead boy !! And by the way using the gofundme money to buy a house and new cars just shows were their priorities are !!!

The claim that Texas teenager Karmelo Anthony or his family "blew" their online legal defense donations to purchase luxury cars and a house is unsupported by factual records. Sworn testimony, platform statements, and primary court records demonstrate that the family did not purchase a home, but rather relocated to a rental house for safety, and the defense funds have been explicitly designated for legal fees, security, and immediate living expenses while under strict judicial constraints.

The financial foundation consists of over $412,000 to $600,000 raised via online crowdfunding platforms (principally GiveSendGo).

GiveSendGo co-founder Jacob Wells confirmed that the platform maintained active communication with the Anthony family regarding fund oversight.

During bond hearings, the defendant's father, Andrew Anthony, testified under oath: "We don't have access to the money." This refers to the standard operational delays and staggered payouts utilized by platforms managing high-risk, high-volume donations to ensure compliance and avoid immediate fraud.

Sensationalized headlines from outlets like the New York Post reported that Anthony was "living with family in a $900K home" and had "bought a new car" immediately following his release. Comparing this framing directly with court transcripts and attorney statements isolates the known facts.

Gee, a crime is committed and the perpetrator is a black man. And he got nailed and is going to stand trial. The Justice at work as it should be.

And our pointy hooded palooka Vole is right on it like a tick on a pig's ass.

And yet, this sheet wearing schmuck has NO problem with the following:
