Let's talk about immigration policy

You still don't understand shit.
Dems want legal immigration period.
End of story.

El fucking O El.

if u wanted just legal immigration then you would be against daca.

dems want t make open border "immigration" legal lol.

Well, given that you open with this, you won't get any real discussion.
Why not? It's a legitimate question. I know what Trump wants, he quite clear. He wants a path to citizenship for dreamers but dims block this.
So...what do Libertarians want?
Gary Johnson was quite liberal with the issue.

I don't go along with the libertarian party on everything. E.g., I'm for strict gun control.
Personally I like that Trump wants to give dreamers a path to citizenship and I agree with him that the lottery system is unfair.
My position is that a wall is stupid . As far as dreamers' parents, let them stay but they do not qualify for any benefits but must pay taxes and into our social security - their punishment for breaking our immigration laws. They don't like it they can go back to Mexico or wherever they came from and pay into their social system and get their benefits.

There... I gave you an answer. Now that wasn't so hard. Why can't you and your buddies do the same?
Because you have no clue. Only TDS or TURD - anti anything Trump. Incapable of coherent thought.

He wants a path to citizenship for 'some' immigrants. He doesn't want chain migration, but his in laws just attained that exact status.

Again...your views might have merit, but as long as you keep referring to Democrats with a pejorative, why would anyone even bother with you?

DACA was a rather stringent path to citizenship. trump has one agenda...wipe Obama from the history books. Speaking of 'coherent' thought, are you aware of the reason DACA was even created?

And you can keep citing 'libs', etc, but why do you ignore the bi partisan Senate bill that backed many of Obama's demands for attaining citizenship, dying numerous times in the House? In fact, it was the Libertarian wing of the Republican party that wouldn't allow Boner, and now Eddie Munster to bring it to a vote....knowing it would pass.

i think its disengenous to call it a bi partisan bill when its only acceptable to the most left of the republicans when it comes to immigration. Before you react yes Lindsay Graham is to th efar left of the GOP when it comes to immigration (not on other issues) that he may as well be a democrat.

Nonsense. It passed with 68 votes in '13, after passing years earlier with 62 votes. Libertarians in the House refused to allow it to come to a vote. It would have passed there too. Are you saying the majority of House Republicans are left leaning?

Don't feed the troll.

Aren't Latino's the majority of illegals in this country? Doesn't the Democrat party cater to the Latino vote? So who benefits the most if Latino's become citizens? As to your BS about depressed wages I believe you will find that the political leanings of business owners that hire low wage workers is about evenly split so that is a crock also.

According to the link, about 8.5 million using the 2012 chart are. (Total of #1, 2, 3, 4, and 9).

In a way I didn't ignore it. I stated that undocumented immigrants with DACA kids could be allowed to stay by paying in to social security yet never receiving benefits. Not a bad penalty for breaking the law. They are free to go back to their country, work and receive their social benefits there.
The reason that bill failed is because it opened the door for citizenship to undocumented immigrants who avoided ICE for numerous years. No penalty for breaking the law, in fact being rewarded for it.
Typical liberal philosophy in general - reward irresponsibility, penalize personal responsibility. Upside down ass backwards.

So my original premise was correct - open borders to anyone who manages to avoid ICE.

I'll play your silly game. Why didn't the Democrats and Obama fix it? Answer lefties want open borders.

Obama deported far more illegals than Bush.
Obama couldn't fix it with a GOP Congress.

Why didn't Bush fix it?

Because it works for the far right Corporate overlords.
If you could ever have an open-minded thought you would realize this.

What is it liberals want? All countries have immigration laws. E.g., if I'm in Italy for a prescribed length of time I must register or be kicked out.
Currently we are pretty much the same.
Seems to me that libs believe that if a citizen of another country sneaks in and stays for a long enuf period of time they should automatically become citizens with all rights and privileges even tho they broke existing laws.

DACA. As of now their status is in limbo, same as when Obama was president. Even then they were under Temporary Protected Status. Key word being "temporary ". Trump is trying to get the temporary status removed yet dims are blocking that.

Trump has made it very clear what he wants.
Dims... I have no idea. Hence, very dim.

So do libs want open borders and anyone can come in , fill out a form that is translated into their language, take an oath and become a citizen? That's my understanding.

The Democrats who craft strategy won't admit it, and most on this forum don't understand it, but it's pretty simple. They want an issue they can use to call Republicans racist. They don't want a solution, just a wedge issue to fundraise and campaign on. Obama had the presidency, Democrats controlled the House and had a filibuster proof majority in the Senate. They could have passed any immigration bill they wanted, yet they passed nothing. Make sense?

But he had a Democrat controlled congress that shoved Obamacare through. They had plenty of time to start fixing border security. Sorry sport you lefties keep saying Obama isn't in office any more well Bush isn't either.
Who is screaming loudest about Trump building the wall. Yep you got it the Democrats.
