So you say.
Where is your empathy?
The main fundraising vehicle tied to the Lindsay Clancy case is "The Musgrove Family Fund" on GoFundMe. It is supposedly for her parents, not for Clancy personally.
What it is
- Organizer: Brandee Mulligan of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin (a TikTok creator with no family connection to the case). She launched it August 11, 2026 after covering the trial.
- Beneficiary: Michael Musgrove (Lindsay Clancy’s father). GoFundMe confirmed he consented. Funds go directly to the parents; Mulligan does not control the money. Attorney Kevin Reddington is aware of the campaign.
- Stated purpose: travel, lodging, living costs, and “other family expenses” after Mike and Paula Musgrove left their Wallingford, Connecticut home, relocated to Massachusetts, and spent more than three years attending proceedings and drawing down savings. The page says it does not ask donors to take a position on guilt or the verdict.
GoFundMe rules
generally block campaigns earmarked for criminal legal defense. Reddington claimed in 2023 that the parents had paid every dollar of the defense.
Current totals (as of Sept. 4, 2026)
About
$1.14 million raised toward a
$3 million goal from roughly
33,800–33,900 donations. Early large gifts included anonymous $10,000 and several $5,000 donations. The goal was raised from $500,000 to $2 million and later $3 million as money came in quickly.
Context of the case
Clancy, a former labor-and-delivery nurse who was familiar with postpartum issues, fatally strangled her three children—Cora (5), Dawson (3), and Callan (8 months)—on January 24, 2023 in Duxbury, Massachusetts, then jumped from a window and was left paralyzed from the waist down. She does not deny the killings. Her defense is not guilty by reason of insanity / postpartum psychosis; prosecutors argued the acts were planned, partly because she tricked her husband into leaving their home on "errands" so he could not prevent the three murders.
The first trial (started late July 2026) ended today, September 4, 2026, in a mistrial after a hung jury and seven days of deliberations. She remains held without bail at Tewksbury Hospital. Plymouth County DA Timothy Cruz has not yet said whether the case will be retried. A status conference is set for later in September.
Other campaigns
Copycat GoFundMes using Clancy’s name appeared after the main fund crossed $1 million. GoFundMe said on September 4 it was reviewing those pages. A small fund for Reddington claiming “pro bono” work had received only a $50 donation.
Donation comments on the official page often address Lindsay directly and treat the fund as support for her. The campaign has drawn both large international support and public backlash.
